In February I went to Baton Rouge in order to look for apartments. I came across the Regent apartments and they were nice and seemed to be a great place to move to. Upon arrival I spoke with Devon and he showed my friend and I around. We signed an application in order to see if we would be approved and then paid the application fee. Our move in date was going to be April 21st. On March 21st, I called and advised them that our plans had fell through and that we would not be relocating. He told me that there was going to be a cancelation fee because it was after 24 hours. On March 22nd, I checked my bank account and noticed I was charged 100 dollars. I called and spoke to Jessica and she told me that I now owed $854 because I am now responsible for first month's rent since I cancelled. When I initially spoke to Devon I was in no way shape or form told about this. Needless to say it has been a nightmare and I am not even living there. After reading reviews, I see that I am not the only one being screwed by these people. If you have been through a similar situation please contact me. I would like to see how you have handled the situation and hopefully follow suit without paying this ungodly amount. We need to put a stop to this.
