I scheduled a late night appointment with The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic, they go by the name TSVC on their advertising, since they were the only animal clinic with late, after work, hours.  When I arrived at 9pm there was only one person in the building that I saw.  The same guy who was working the phones / checkin counter was the person who looked at my dog.  I asked him if he was a DVM and he said that he was, but he did not seem to have the knowledge a DVM would with my dog.  He did not do anything wrong or problematic with the checkup but just his lack of proper procedure alerted me to a problem.  After the appointment, when I arrived home, I checked the TSVC website to see if the "DVM" was listed on the website.  His picture was not listed as one of the vets.  I called and spoke with Dr. William Langhofer the next day and was told the person who saw me was a DVM.  I still was not assured since everything seemed wrong about the situation.  The next day I drove over to the Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic and asked the woman at the desk for a list of vets that worked there, pretending to be a new client looking for a new vet.  The list she gave me did not include the man who Dr. Langhofer said was a DVM the previous day.  I double checked with her to see if there were any other DVMs who part timed or operated out the facility and she said "no".  I asked by the guy's name if he was a DVM and she got uncomfortable looking and said he was their night time pet hotel guy.  I demanded to see Dr. Langhofer, but he would not see me as he was busy with patients.  I waited an hour and then left.  He was available on the phone later that day when I pretended to be a different person with a question (I had previously held for 25 minutes waiting for him....when I called back an hour later I got right through when I "was someone else").  I demanded my money back and wanted an apology for him lying to me.  Dr. Langhofer told me he had said all along that the pet tech was TRAINING to become a DVM, but was not actually a DVM.  I asked him what school he was enrolled in and that I would verify with them about his potential DVM status, etc.  Dr. Langhofer said he was not sure if he was even in a school, but was working their towards his DVM.  I demanded my money back and Dr. Langhofer refused.
