Complaint Review: The Secret Society

This Secret Society, which had a Dover, Delaware address, and a Grove City, Ohio return address, claims to know me intimately, and according to their verbose and long winded letter, which purportedly came from my own "personal mentor," has selected me, so they say, because of a review they allegedly did of "my profile." They have solicited several hundred dollars of my Navy disability pension, and though I complied with their requirements, I have not received anything worth $1.00 or what I was promised, nor have I gained any of the other benefits they said would be forthcoming.

After reading other comments on the Internet about this same scam, I came to the conclusion that I should report them to the authorities. They call themselves the "New Luminati," and claim to have secrets that only the wealthy use to garner more wealth. They claim that these secrets are passed down from generation to generation within a family "dynasty" and have been available only to these "select few," for more than 2300 years.

I suspect they are more of the old "bullshit artists" that came out of the 1970's telephone sales scams than anything else. They claim a 1000-page manuscript is being sent to my physical address, which contain the "very secret code" of this 'new luminati.'

I think they picked the wrong guy, when they sent a letter to me; I am an Investigative Journalist, and if my report as well as others, will save even one person from spending a dime on these con-artists, then we will have done a sevice to all the other unsuspecting persons solicited by these "get-rich quick scheme con-artists. As it is, I guess I can kiss whatever money I have spent already, goodbye. I'm sure others might have been hurt worse.
