Complaint Review: The Strand Theater

Camille Lopez ED for the strand theater is a terrible person. Shes been hiding her mischievous behavior from the theaters board of directors for years but she has been pocketing not only cash but also shes been buying the silence of other theater workers. The theater is about to go bankrupt because of her. She is the laziest person I've ever seen in my life and the only reason she is there is because she sleeps around with one of the board members

This is a letter sent to the Lakewood Townships Mayor and several other officials:

Dear Mr. Mayor:

First of all, congratulations on your success and thank you very much for all your efforts and accomplishments as an elected official of our city. As a member of the Lakewood township community, I believe the performance of our local businesses, government, and citizens is important to maintaining a high quality of life for our residents.

As you probably know, our legendary Strand Center for the Arts recently celebrated its 90th anniversary with a magnificent gala.

Im writing to express my disappointment as shared by the Lakewood community for what the Strand has become. Under the current management team, this exclusive theater has changed into a humiliating insolvent financial operation that is the laughing topic of the hour for many performing arts professionals from New Jersey and around the country.

Unluckily for the community, the theaters director Camille Lopez lack of experience and negative attitude along with the board of directors indifference have contributed to a situation that will soon bankrupt the theater and possibly the surrounding businesses.

Let me cite a few examples that Ive collected through the years from reliable internal sources at the theater and the New Jersey performing arts community. In the past 12 months, 6 prospective institutional donors have walked away from giving major contributions to the theater after sensing the misconduct of the management team. In addition, a New York City artist management agency recently blogged online about their frustration when dealing with the theaters director, highlighting her incompetence and her failure to simply return phone calls or negotiate a basic contract.

We would like to suggest that the township authorities find a way of getting involved in the day to day operations of the Strand in order to avoid its impending closing.

The reality is that the Strand could not only be producing millions in profits but also it could become an instrumental launching platform for our township.

This is the time to bring in real professionals to manage and direct this theaters future and its tremendous potential.

Please take action and bring back the Strand Theater to its golden years.
