Complaint Review: The Verizon Wireless

The Verizon Wireless False Billing Albany , New York

I canceled my service with Verizon Wireless on 11/21/09. My bill was up to date when I canceled. I was out of my contract. I received a bill on 11/25/09 for Monthly Access charges from 11/17/09 to 12/16/09. When I called to question the bill, I was told that since I did not cancel my service at the end of my billing cycle, I had to pay them until 12/16/09. My service was no longer usable at Verizon as of 11/21/09. When I told them I would be willing to pay for the few days that I did owe, I was told I had to pay the bill in full to 12/16/09. I was told that I signed a contract with Verizon that stated this. I asked for a copy of this contract to be sent to me and was told I could not have it.

Verizon is trying to extort money out of me for a service they are not providing and I am not receiving.  They also did this when I canceled my home phone service with them. I have no problem paying for a service I used, but I have a real problem with paying for a service I did not use.

VZW and Verizon two companies????

This is just another rebuttal to the guy who keeps insisting that Verizon and VZW are two separate companies. Again, he's a bone head who watches too many commercials. Fact check yourself, please. The inormation is public - on the EDGAR database all of the Verizons with the little red checkmark logo are one company.

Stop giving false information.

The Terms & Conditions you agree to when you pay your bill each and every month clearly state that if/when you cancel the remainder of the month, if done mid-cycle, is not prorated.  So by the terms YOU AGREED WITH they billed you correctly.  Just about every cell carrier does this.  Of course I doubt you bothered reading the T&C for your service; customers never do.

Also, what happened with Verizon and you has no bearing with VZW and you as they are two separate companies.
