This criminally ignorant landlord/partner/managing agent was told by the township health department to weatherseal the unit across the hall to prevent second hand smoke from migrating from a heavy smoker's unit into common hallways and trespasses into my unit.

COMMON HALLWAYS (COMMON AREA) - A common area is, in real estate or real property law, the "area which is available for use by more than one person..." The common areas are those "within a building that are available for common use by all tenants, (or) groups of tenants and their invitees."(Wikipedia)

TRESPASS - an unwarranted infringement, an unlawful act committed on the person, property, or rights of another; especially :  a wrongful entry on real property (merriam webster)

My apartment is occupied by non-smokers, non-ignorant, non-mentally ill, non-substance abusing people. We do not tolerate secondhand smoke which migrates from the addict's apartment and pollutes the entire building. Secondhand smoke is a serious health hazard, nuisance, disturbance.

Instead of complying with the town's request and paying money to a professional company to seal the violating tenant's doors, his criminally ignorant superindendent placed 3 "no smoking" signs in two hallways and one floor sweep on one door. Recently placed another floor sweep on the door in the second hallway. Neither the signs nor the floor sweeps purify the air and make any difference in air quality. These buildings, doors are very old and paper thin. There are gaps in the doors around the entire perimeter. These doors need to be replaced.

Instead of spending money it decided it would be easier to get rid of us, good tenants, so this criminally ignorant team threatened us with the retaliatory eviction for complaining. This happened on two occasions, and one time the super came up and told the like-minded addict tenant he is not on our side and we are the problem, not the smoking tenant. Another documented act of retaliation happened recently when our rent check disappeared from the super's apartment and he tried to extort another check and late fee. The check magically reappeared after numerous phone calls to the landlord and the super by third parties.

This is a clear case of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, violation of human rights. Flooding the internet with complaints to bring awareness to the public, but also escalating locally with the town and state and will bring the media and public interest groups into this. Other tenants in the complex also complained of SHS pollution in their building but preferred to flee rather than stand their ground and fight for their rights.

In the past this landlord/partner/managing agent also retaliated against us for complaning about other serious problems and violations, which caused some non-ignorant tenants to flee. It completely ignored our complaint and raised our rent.
