I purchased an extended warranty from these people for my passat for $1399. Three months later the thermostat malfunctioned causing the head gaskets to blow. Even though the warranty stated that all internal engine components were covered and specifically mentioned that the thermostat was covered, they denied my claim. Said it wasn't covered under warranty. Total repair cost was $1600. Do yourself a favor, and DO NOT buy a warranty from these people. They are low life crooks, that will just take your fee then give you the run around on the phone and never call you back.

A failed thermostat does not cause head gasket problems unless...

A failed thermostat does not cause head gasket failure unless you continue to drive the vehicle after it has overheated.  Most people would pull over to the side of the road and have their vehicle towed if they had a problem like this.  Except people that purchase these warranties.  Since it's not their money they're gambling with, they keep driving the vehicle thinking it's all just going to be covered.  I can almost guarantee there is something in this dude's contract stating that it is his responsibility to prevent further damage to his vehicle.  I don't know about you, but if I'm going to drop $1400 on a service plan, I'm going to read the stipulations.  Since this guy is obviously incapable of reading, all he can do about it is complain on the internet.

What an idiot.
