I was driving through Michigan State University Campus at 6:30 PM on the 23rd of July 2003 in the city of East Lansing, Michigan and was stationary at a traffic light.

A white Chevy Express van (License plate 6FE CO3)approached me and there were two 20-22 year old guys in the van who started babbling about a home theater system which they by mistake had on their van as an excess box. They said that they had to sell this no matter what in the next half hour before they went to Grand Rapids, MI to their parent company called Audio Visual. They had shirts and ID badges on them for Audio Visual Company which they said was located on 28th street in Grand Rapids.

They also showed a very impressive color brochure on the product and it had a list price of $2499.99.

The driver eventually convinced me to pay $500.00 for the system. His name was MATT and he gave me his cell phone number as (847) 800-3339. The number is real and I did call him to confirm the same.

Matt then drove with me to the ATM and his buddy followed us in the van. I paid the cash and got the system and came home. Then I found out about the ripoff reports and how other customers have also been cheated. I have seen the same system being sold on the on EBAY for $500.00.

I tried the website for the company and it does not work. I tested the speakers and the subwoofer and they do work, but dont know for how long. The owners manual has a lot of grammatical mistakes in it. Their is a warranty card but the company apparantly does not exist. The external packaging is excellent and shows an aeroplane taking off and 5 speakers and a subwoofer at its base.

I was sold the system as a 5.1 with a built oin amplifier but after opening I realized that I would still need to buy an external amplifier to run all the speakers with my DVD.

There should be something that we can legally do to file a poilce complaint or media attnetion to prevent others from being ripped off.
