I found this looser through Nextag and thought I'd be ok because they're a 5 star seller with over 1300 reviews. They have a Canon lens advertised at a price that's too good to be true (I know, I'm a fool for going for it). On Nextag it clearly stated "USA Warranty". Once I clicked through to thedigitalhunter.com the item said "imported". Definitely misleading advertising on Nextag and they haven't corrected it.

I went ahead and purchased the item knowing it's still a great price, even for a "gray market" item that would have to be shipped overseas for repair. The next day, someone calls me from Digital Hunter, ostensibly to clear up a problem with my credit card input (hey, it took my order the night before). He asks if I know that it's an imported item. I explain their deceptive advertising. He tells me that the imported lens has a plastic lens mount (not true) and a USA lens is $200 more. Yup an extra $200 to get the one they advertised on Nextag. As he's insisting the imported lens has a plastic lens mount, I tell him to cancel the order (finally wising up and deciding to run from this place).

This is where he tells me that thedigitalhunter.com has a 7% cancellation fee. He's going to talk to his supervisor though, to see if he can get it waived! This on an order that hasn't been placed yet because of a problem with my credit card number, after being subjected to false advertising, after being lied to about the construction of the imported lens, and after being pressured to buy the more expensive version.

Folks, you need to run, don't walk away from the Digital Hunter. I looked up their whosis and their registration is hidden behind Domains By Proxy. Checked with the state of Florida too on their name (they have a South Florida area code) and no such company is registered in Florida. No into on their website as to an owner or physical address either.
