themodchip charged me for a a 250 GB HD, installation, x3 and a skin. I sent in my xbox. Took about a month to get it back. I didn't recieve my skin for the xbox. Last time i spoke with Joshua, he promised it would be mailed as soon as they received it. Well, it has been about six months and I have not recieved.

Since my order i also found out that www.themodchip.com never installed my new 250 GB HD, that they charged me for. I found this out because I opened up my XBOX.

I tried calling them and emailing them. No response. HOwever, I did find ou that They both like to rip off there customers.

I also found out that they both have locations in San Marcos, CA. I did a BBB refrence check with the following number 1800.738.8018. This number is the number to themodchip. The report came back as chipdealer. This website has had many compliants filed against them.

Stay awya from them

It is a 50/50 chance you'll get anything from them

You have been warned!

Legality is not in question

#3Consumer Suggestion

Regardless of the legality of the situation, there is a legal matter of payment for goods unrendered.

You can still claim the goods even though they invalidate your agreements - can Microsoft prove you are going to use your Xbox afterwards? Of course not (although it is likely of course). You may also have not known of the legality at the time, how many people read the agreements included - no one in my family does and I'm sure the majority of people don't either because the large part of agreements is limiting the companies liability when things go wrong anyway.

You still have a missing hard drive and you have goods paid for not provided so therefore you have a legal standing. I'd discuss the matter with legal council to get the money (maybe in small claims suit so you do actually get the money back).

Why should you expect anything better from a business that is doing something illegal?

Why? Modchips are illegal to install or putting a different/bigger hard drive is a violation of USER agreement when you purchased your video game console.

Why do you expect good service from a business who's entire basis is to earn money while doing something illegal?
