Unbelievable. I signed up for this program to get a free IPOD video and had to become a member of 8 different programs. After signing up I checked the status of my gift and it said that 5 of 8 were confirmed. I closed the browsers and went back to work.

A coworker came by and I told him about the program and he replied, "That's a complete scam!" I was a bit concerned by his reaction so I logged on to the consumer incentive programs site and clicked "Gift Status." It prompts you to type in the email address I registered with and long and behold, it said my email address is not on file.

After trying to type in several different variations of my email (thinking that I may have made a typo) I became frusturated and decided to google the company to see what kind of dirt I could dig up on them. To my horror, I see numerous hits with descriptions saying, "fraud", "scam", etc.

I called my credit card company and the transactions are currently in dispute. I emailed consumer incentive programs, AKA theuseful.com to let them know what happened. My feeling is that I got scammed, but will wait a few days and post on here again to let you know what happens. For the other people who got scammed, let me know what you did in response!!!
