Thomas Acura Auto Dealers Covina California
I purchased an Acura at Thomas Acura the beginning of December 2008. At the time, I was told the car was a dealers car, had seven thousand miles on it and they had gotten it in July.
A few weeks later, I was getting into my car and noticed the license was expired in July, 2008. I checked the registration they had left in the car and found out it was not purchased in July 2008, but July 2007. It was a year and a half old, not six months old like they led me to believe. To me, they lied by omission. Whenever the age of the car was brought up, they kept telling us they had it since July. I felt that was very deceptive finding out after the purchase how old the car really was.
To top it off, in February, they sent us a bill for $30 more for the registration saying we had not paid enough. They were charging us back to July (six months before we purchased the car) when the registration they had purchased expired. When we complained to Willie Pittman the Finance Manager, he told us, "too bad, if you don't pay, we wouldn't register the car." We were stuck for the registration fees for the time we didn't even own the car.

That somebody could buy a car and not even know what year it was. Was it a 2007 or 2008? The time to determine the year of the car and the amount of warranty left was when you signed a contrat to purchase the car. The car is registered and tags purchased and taxes paid is when you buy the car unless California is different from the other 49 states.
