I would not recommend working with Thomas Harper of 104 N. Harper, LLC in Los Angeles.

My main motivation here is to get the word out about this individual, his company and his business practices. As I searched his background performing my own due diligence in this transaction, I found NO negative reports about this individual anywhere.

If you give him a search, Thomas is listed as one of the Top 25 Investor/Private lender profiles on LinkedIn. However, my experience does not validate his presence there.

Thomas reached out to me on an entrpreneur-investor platform to which I subscribe, and we began the conversation about his ability to provide me with a $2M debt loan investment for my film company which currently has nearly $1B in potential investment dollars for Dallas/Fort Worth film projects.

On June 7, 2016, we signed a contract for a two million dollar ($2M) investment loan in my startup. I had searched him, performed due diligence, even received references... Nothing alarming appeared regarding his business practices, so I entered into the contract. I paid the loan origination fee ($6300.00) but he has since come back to me asserting that he can no longer honor the contract because his financial backers won't allow him to lend according to the terms of our contract anymore. He asserted if I paid him additional funds ($12,000.00) he could close the loan for me. There's the bait and switch...

I have asked for a refund on the transaction, because he can no longer meet the terms of the original contract, but there seems to be some confusion as to where part of my LOC has gone. After I discovered that the account to which I wired $3300.00 of the LOC had been closed and informed Thomas, his agent here in Dallas has claimed to Thomas that account was mistakenly closed and the funds are being returned to me. That supposed "accidental" account closure occured on June 7.

The bank where the account was held asserts that the funds were indeed deposited into the account in the wire transfer from my bank, that the funds were withdrawn and then the account was closed by the account holder.. I initially discovered this account status on June 17th, and confirmed that the money was indeed withdrawn before the account closed on July 1, and bank personnel have assured me that there is NO refund coming to me from that account. This information, however, has still not moved Thomas to provide me with a refund, despite the fact that he is no longer willing to meet the terms of our contract.

He has asked ME to proivide proof of the account details from the account held by HIS agent, and will not move on his assertion that he can't provide me a refund until he gets to the bottom of the situation, but he won't ask HIS agent for proof of the account details. So there's the sleight of hand... As long as the money is "missing" he doesn't feel he has an obligation to refund my fee.

I completely understand that I have responsibility in this business transaction. My motivation here is to give others pause if they are considering entering into any business arrangement with Thomas. I did not have the benefit of any negative feedback regarding his business practices, so I want others to be aware of the need to be cautious.

Thanks in advance for helping me get the word out!

I highly doubt the veracity of this rebuttal.

For me, it's a bit suspect that a "satisfied customer" would somehow wander on to ripoffreport.com within 24 hours of my initially filing a report to "defend" this business owner.

If Mike is a satisfied customer, why is he here? In order to reply to this report, he would have had to have searched "Thomas Harper" or "104 N Harper LLC," come to this site, created a profile, and offered this rebuttal. Why would he have done all that if he were a satisfied customer? Why has Mike come to ripoffreport.com?

This site is a great resource for consumers to report on the questionable dealings of business owners and to seek any negative feedback that might be out there for fraudulent business practitioner. That's why I came here... there was no negative feedback out there for Thomas Harper when I searched, and I wanted to make sure that others who were considering doing business with him had access to something that would give them pause. I have reported nothing but facts here.

As great a resource as it may be, there's nothing to prevent those fraudulent business owners from creating bogus profiles to rebutt reports about their practices. It gives an "air of credibility" when they themselves cannot respond to the report with anything that would satisfy the complaintants grievances.

I could further speculate that this is "Thomas" himself because English is not Thomas' first language and the post is filled with the grammatical ideosyncracies that I find in my email and text communications with him. Also, Mike does in this post what Thomas has done in our communication, he pushes the blame for this situation back on to me.

I'm not here to ruin the reputation of an upstanding member of the business community. If Thomas had been able to execute our signed contract, or provided me with an immediate refund once he informed me that he could no longer honor its terms, then I would have had NO need to come here. But, sadly, neither of those things have happened. It has now been fifteen business days since I formally requestged a refund. Our signed and witnessed contract has not been executed and I have no refund in hand.

That's my take on this rebuttal, but I'm happy to let you, the consumer, decide if it's valid. I would still say- don't do business with Thomas Harper or 104 N Harper, LLC.

My name is Mike and It is important for me rebute the claim by Mr. James regarding the operations of 104 N HARPER LLC. I have just concluded a ($600k) Loan transaction with the company; I was also asked to pay for Loan Origination Cost. First I was disturbed by the idea of filling my account details on the Loan Application form; Having heard a lot about scams, I was skeptical at the idea of making upfront payment but I finally took the courage.

I was told my Loan funding would take place between 3-7days; I did hoped it would be within the first 3days but it didn't happen and that increased by suspicion. By the 5th day, I got a call from a man who I guess was the banker to Thomas Harper or 104 N HARPER, LLC; the telephone session was to clarificy that my account details were correct.

After a few munites of clarification, the caller dropped the call. Later that day, I got a another from a Representative of 104 N HARPER, LLC requesting to meet with me. I took him around my office to have a look at documents describing more about my business. I guess it was to ensure I was going to use the money for the business I had on the application form. On the 6th day, I got funded and by the end of August, I'll begin Loan repayment 'cos I was given first 2months as grace period.

In conclusion, I want everyone here to know the claimes by James is not correct; he has a role to play as he has said and probably he did not complete the loan process. I'm yet to find anything negative about the reputaion of Mr. Thomas Harper or 104 N HARPER, LLC.
