Complaint Review: Thomas Joseph Slattery

We answered an email enquiry from a listing we put on Care.com. A family member was offering nanny services and received an offer from a Carolyn Jones.  Her number was ***-***-****.  Most of our communication was by text but this email was used:  makjonesk33@aol.com

Money was sent to us and deposited.  After several days the money cleared and we sent it to a 3rd party for Carolyn.  We were told that they were moving here and sent a check for a weeks worth of nanny labor and rent deposit.  We were asked to meet the landlord for them and would be compensated for our time.

Turns out the landlord was in Texas and needed a MoneyGram.  His name was Thomas Joseph Slattery.  He had to show an ID to get the money!  His address listed in the MoneyGram pickup was **** **** *** ***** ****** ***** *****.

Let this be a warning to all!  This man and woman ripped us off for $1300 USD.  They were very good at making us think this was all legal and on the up and up.  I am just hoping someone sees this and gets this dude back for me.
