Thomas Painting & Finishing - Grand Island New York Thomas Painting Co BUYER BEWARE!!! Unfinished Work for $2300. Unkept promises. Total rip off. Awful communication. Grand Island, NY New York
We were convinced to work with Troy Thomas because the price was great. But there were issues right away. He required a relatively large deposit which seemed normal but then didn't show up for the first day of work for atleast 2 months.
When work began he never has a meeting with me to review the whole process so I constantly had questions for his team of painters and they had no answers as for when certain things would be accomplished. Communication was a nightmare from the start. He wouldn't take or return my calls and would only text me.
When I expressed concerns around when they were showing up to work or the work being accomplished he was very aggressive and disrespectful via text message. It was random when his team would show up and I'd rarely have a heads up. Our 1/3 deposit check was given August 3rd 2018, asked for dates of work starting on the 8th no reply until the 22nd with still no dates, followed up on the 30th again.
They didn't power wash the house until the first Saturday in September. There we just so many instances of me babysitting this contractor. Constantly asking when they would show up to do the work we paid for. They only time he was prompt was when it was almost time for another check. I regretted immensely giving him a second check. After that he rarely showed up.
It was well into October I was expressing concerns about them finishing the job. Long story short, they never finished and he didn't even express concern about it. No plan expressed for finishing it in the spring. I had to contact him this spring asking him to finish the side of our house that's still brown... so crazy.
We've had weeks of warm weather and he said he'd prioritize us and finishing the work but again there's zero communication. After all of that, the work isn't even that good. Don't waste your time and money. Buyer beware. The worst experience we've had in 10 years of home ownership with a contractor. I should have done my research online before hiring him.
Apparently others have posted about how he's taken their money and not finished work. Such a shame. He could have a great business if he prioritized his customers and communicated with them professionally.... oh and of course if he finished the work.
