I purchased a very expensive furniture set (Near $10k)  from Doug Crede who is the Sales Manager at Thomasville Home Furnishings in Jacksonville, FL. Doug was all smiles and roses when I made the purchase and was the consummate kiss-a*s sales person. I had to wait on my furniture for nearly six weeks and then the day came that it arrived. I was able to work with the delivery company to ensure that I was there when the furniture arrived and so I didn't have to wait for up to three hours for the delivery. The delivery guys seem to be trying to be very careful with the furniture so when I returned home after the delivery that night I was surprised to see a huge nick in one of the items. I immediately called Thomasville and Doug Crede. Doug assured me that he would see that this was looked into. I should have know what was coming when he was so vague about how fixing the furniture would happen. The next day I received a call from a very abrupt lady with Thomasville in Jacksonville. She was all cheery in telling me that I would have to wait for a "repair person" to come out and wanted to know what three hour window would work. After telling her I didn't create the probelm and that I didn't have time to wait she starts quoting parts of the contract I signed when I bought the furniture. After getting very frustrated with contract quoting lady I asked to speak to my sales person Doug Crede. Doug changed once I started asking what he and Thomasville planned to do to resolve the situation, he was no longer the happy-go-lucky kiss-a*s that I'd bought the furniture from. He was now a "contract quoter" and had no interest in making the situation right. When I asked him if Thomasville was willing to give me a gift certificate or something to compensate me for my wasted time he again quoted the contract. It seems if you buy something from Thomasville that when you make that purchase and sign what looks like a basic sales agreement, that you are actually signing documents that give away any right you have to get new furniture or to return what you purchased. Since Doug was more than familiar with the contract he became very cavalier about my situation. Long story short, I still haven't gotten my furniture fixed, I've hired an attorney to help get satisfaction, and I'm telling the world about my experience. It seems I'm not the only one ripped off by Thomasville. If you Google "Thomasville furniture ripoff" you'll see what I mean. DO NOT be scammed by Thomasville, if your furniture is damaged or not built correctly you do not have any recourse. Also, DO NOT buy furniture from Doug Crede who is the Sales Manager at Thomasville Home Furnishings in Jacksonville, FL. Doug is the head scammer there.

I too have had a similar bad experience with Thomasville Furniture and Home Furnishings in Jacksonville, FL and also with Doug Crede. It's interesting to my Checkeredfever how the person who did the rebuttal framed the response. This is obviously Thomasville themselves or a company they have hired to do rebuttals each time they rip-off someone. Come on, who can wait three hours in the middle of the day for a company to come out and fix a piece of furniture. You can't do that after 6 pm or on Saturday? Nice try and attempting to fix your mistake Thomasville but I too was mistreated by Doug Crede at Thomasville Home Furnishings in Jacksonville, FL. Doug angles for the sale and in my opinion doesn't care what happens after that. I bought a dining table that was flawed in three places and one of the spots was a deep gash in the wood. Their answer was to have putty put in an $8,000 table and take a wood grain pen and cover it up. That's what you agree to when purchase from Thomasville. When sign the receipt you're agreeing if the furniture is damaged that you will let them fix it. No refund, no compensation, no replacement of the furniture, and all for $8,000?

Nice try on the rebuttal Doug, Thomasville, of the marketing rebuttal company. Anyone considering Thomasville should Google "Thomasville Furniture Rip-off" of "Thomasville Furniture Scam" to see the thousands of complaints out there. I guess in Jacksonville, FL we're just lucky to have one of the worst Thomasville's around and Doug Crede.

Unreasonable demands..

You ordered very expensive CUSTOM furniture, so yes it is going to take a while to fill the order, and 6 weeks is not out of the ordinary.  In fact if you read some reports from other companies that is a very short time.

There is damage to a piece, granted that is not good but errors happen.  So it matters how they solve the problem, but it takes the consumer to allow them to solve it as well.  You call them up and they ask you what 3 hour window works.  But you are so busy that you are never home for more than 3 hours so you complain right away.  Later you then ask what they were going to do for you.  They told you..they wanted to send a repair person out, just because you don't like the fact that you had to wait around for 3 hours does not make it a ripoff.  In fact it seems quite reasonable.  Now, if you had scheduled them and they didn't come out, or refused to repair it then you may have a valid complaint.  But based on what you wrote here the only one who seems unreasonable is you.

But the best line is that you now expect compensation for your waisted time.
