Thompson - I returned a defective RCA DVD video player and never receive the promised refund. El Paso Texas
On 10/15/08, I returned a defective RCA combo DVD/VCR player. I was told they would have it repaired and returned within two months. On January 9, 2009, realizing I had not heard from them, I called and inquired about it and was told it could not be fixed and if I would fax to them my receipt, they would refund my money, $216.59. I was told my new case number was 37HQZ.
I faxed my receipt to them (fax #317-587-9124) on 1/9/09, and I also emailed them a scanned copy of the receipt (cccrcabos@thomson.net). My fax machine printed a report that said the fax had gone through. They had told me I would have my money in 6-8 weeks.
On 3/10/09 I called and talked to Natalie. She said they did not have my receipt. Faxed it again and got the same answer at 2:00 p.m., and again at 3:00 p.m.
On 3/11/09 I called them and was told they had not received my receipt, so I faxed it again, and again the log said it had reached them. I called them at 11:00 a.m. 3/13/09 to confirm that they had it, and they said they had it but it was not legible and I should re-fax, which I did, at 11:00 a.m. At 2:00 p.m. I called and was told to check back in an hour.
I next called at 2:10 p.m. on 3/16/09, and "Jessica" told me they could now read it and my refund of $216.59 would be received in 6-8 weeks.
On 5/12/09 I called and talked to Josh. Told him I was tired of being jerked around by their company and wanted my money now! He left the phone for a few minutes, then returned and told me Accts. Payable was processing it and it should be here in a few weeks. I told him that was not acceptable, and I wanted it within one week or I would contact an attorney. He said I should have it in a few days.
On 5/21/09 I again got Josh when I called. He again left the phone, then returned and said the check was processed and would be here in 4-6 weeks. I told him that if it was processed it would not take 4-6 weeks to reach me and that I was going to report their company to the Attorney General, which I fully intend to do.
