On June 15, 2009 I ordered a climate control unit from Thoroughbred Auto Parts. Paid with credit card. Was told unit would arrive within 5-10 business days.

On July 6, 2009 I called Thoroughbred and informed them the unit had not arrived. I was told the shipping department had not shipped the unit. They said the unit would be shipped that day and would arrive no later than July 10.

On July 10, 2009 I called Thoroughbred and informed them the unit had not arrived. I was told they had shipped the unit via UPS but UPS had returned the unit to them as damaged. They would try to find another unit and ship it to me next week. I asked if they would call me later that day to confirm and was told they would try but they were very busy.

After searching I found another supplier who said he could have the unit to me by July 15. I called Thoroughbred and informed them that I wanted to cancel my order, that I had found a unit with another supplier. I was told there would be a 20% restocking charge because the unit was an electrical part. I tried to explain that how could there be a restocking charge when I had never received the unit. I was told two units had been shipped to me and returned because there were bad buttons on the units. This was absolutely not true, I had not ever received any units.

Finally I was told bookkeeping would issue a credit next week... if they can't keep up with their own shipping and would try to lie about parts being sent to customers what chance do you think they will issue the credit.

Based upon my dealings with this company I do not think you can believe anything they say and wanted to let others know before they initiated dealings with Thoroughbred.

If the charge appears on my credit card statement I intend to challenge the charge.
