I ordered a vacuum boost conversion kit to replace a hydraulic pump sistem on a 1990 Jeep Cherokee from Thoroughbred Auto Parts. The sales pitch was that I would receive everything necessary to install the conversion kit priced at $150 + $35 shipping. I called three times over a peroid of 3 weeks to get Thoroughbred to ship the part before they finally gave me a tracking number for shipping. The junk part came from Northfield 4 x 4 742 Lower Nis Hollow Drive, Lehighton, PA 18235.

What I got was a beat up container with a master cylinder attached to a rusty vacuum chamber. It had no instructions or vacuum hoses or fittings. The part looked as if it had been lying in a mud puddle for a long while. It was badly pitted in the rust area. It contained dirty brake fluid (which must surely have violated the HAZMAT shipping codes for flamable materials) and was questionable as to whether it would work.

I didn't feel confident enough that the unit would work to try to install it. It just wasn't worth the $185 I was charged for the part. I called Thouroghbred Auto Parts that I couldn't use the part. I was told to sell it on E-Bay. I have since sold the Jeep; I'm out $185. I don't that I feel comfortable selling to anyone else at any price. Avoid being scammed; don't deal with these people.
