Thred Up is an online consignment company. Their policies are clear but they do not seem to follow their policies. I did what was suggested by asking up front what brands and styles they accepted for consignment. I had the misfortune of only having seen the positive reviews of this company so I did not choose to pay the $12.99 to have any rejected items returned to me. I sent in about 30 sweaters and jackets in pristine condition, many of which had never been worn. The only "accepted" 5 of these items and the remaining items were rejected supposedly on the basis they could not be sold even though many were duplicate of what they accepted.

The gave my account a credit of $19.26 but I could not access the money as they had a $20 minimum to receive a payout. Although unhappy with the outcome of this, I chalked it up to experience and decided I would not deal with them again. I did send an email asking why so many of my things were rejected. This is when I was told they could not sell my items. I also complained about not being able to get my $19.26 because of the minimum. I was told I could use the credit to purchase items off their site. I did not wish to do that as the things I had bought from them previously were not in very good shape and I saw no reason to buy from them again.

I made it clear I was not happy and would not be using this company again. I was sent a survey to rate how satisfied I was with their customer service. I rated it bad and let them know I was not impressed. The next day I decided to attempt to find something I could spend that $19.26 on. When I accessed my account I discovered that it had been wiped completely clean of any activity. It did not show that I had ever sent in anything, that I had sold anything, that I had any kind of credit. It looked as though I had never done anything with them.

I began sending emails to them and have not heard anything. It has been almost 3 months since I sent in what they call the "clean out bag". I sent several hundred dollars worth of items and now have absolutely nothing to show for it. As I look for ways to complain I have been finding more and more people who have experienced the same thing I have. This company is not what they claim to be.
