At the thrifty car rental counter at San Jose Del Cabo Airport Cesar, the agent at the counter, quoted a rate of $750 per week including insurance. This was $300 higher than quoted price or that I paid in the past. After a lengthy discussion the agent said that he had approval to use a manger exepcetion for lower rate but that it would impact his comission and asked that I give him money to cover the difference. It was then that I noticed they were doing it to the other 3 people a the counter. After being there over an hour I gave him $40 to get the car and get out of there. I left behind 3 other very angry customers.
Upon returing the car they tried to claim damage even though it was marked on the form when I picked up the rental. Luckliy I took when I piicked it up so after another lengthy debate returned the car with no damage reported. What concerned me most is that threaten me at the coutner " rememebr you are in Mexcio, things can jhappen here".
Bottom line... the agents at Thrifty are dishonest so it is best to rent from one the many toher renal car compnaies there.
