Complaint Review: Thumbtack

Thumbtack Been with them for years. They no longer accept phone calls and as a result I have spent over 4 hrs in the last week chatting with no results. Refuse to issue a refund of money that I have in my account with them.

When I first signed up with them years ago, I could make phone calls, even had my own rep, easy to get problems solved. Liked the system they had for getting job leads. Then they changed almost everything. I tried to deposit money into my account and it didn't work even though it was the same account number that showed up on their system. After chatting back and forth for over 2 hrs and numerous tries on their part, they said it was my banks fault and that I should get them to straighten it out. Upon checking with my bank my statement it showed 13 withdraws of $0 by thumbtack. It WASN"T MY BANK! When I chatted back, they still couldn't get it right.

I had $51.92 in my account for over 2 years. When I asked to close out my account and send me the money, they said that they don't issue refunds.

I  asked, on numerous occasions, to speak to someone on the phone. We don't do that, it is quicker to chat or email (they answer emails in 2days). My initial 2 hr+ chat could have been done in 5 minutes with a phone call instead of typing in information, waiting for a reply, then typing an answer, etc etc.

I was trying to start up using them again but ran into their "customer no service" so they lost me and all the friends and sub-contractors that I used to steer to Thumbtack. Too bad.
