In August 2009, I was quoted $1200 to have my engine rebuilt. They asked for $800 up front and I was told it would take only 2 weeks and I'd have my van back. Three weeks later, I am asked to pay another $800 to start the repairs and now the price of the rebuild has gone up to $1600. By the 4th week, the engine is done but before I could drive out with my van, I was forced to pay another $1800 to get my van. In total, I paid a little over $3400 for all the cost of the rebuild and EXTRA parts they claimed needed to be replaced. In January 2010, the oil pressure is dropping and the car will not stay running. I have the van towed on a Friday back to Thunderbolt for repairs since the engine is covered under their 36,000 mile/3 year warranty on parts. By Tuesday, I had not heard a word from them so I called to speak to someone. The mechanic informs me that the ENTIRE engine has to be pulled and taken apart and that this is not covered under my warranty because the warranty only covers parts and not the labor. Fortunately for them, the labor warranty expired in November. So, now I'm looking at another "estimated" $1800 to have the engine pulled apart and fixed and put back together.

THIS IS FRAUD! My plans right now are to take them to court. I am simply bewildered how they can keep getting away with poor business practice and ethics. They will be reported to the BBB also.

PLEASE, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THUNDERBOLT OR PRECISION MOTORS. Don't be fooled like me and others. Precision Motors is also owned by Thunderbolt Motors.
