Complaint Review: THUNDERCREEK FARMS ANGELA JONES

Angela you know you sold me a misrepresented horse, The TW gelding.  You know you did not honor your guarantee too, Your guarantee was even on your website.  ( that you changed 10 different times after people started posting on craigslist about you).  Why is it all the ripoffreports are all the same story? And all the adds on you posted on Craigslist.    You do the same selling scam to unsuspecting people.  The horses are not what you told the people that you sold them to:  concerning the horses health, rideability, age, etc.   You dont call anyone back once the horse is in their possession, you dont answer certified mail.  You dont honor your guarantee.  YOu are breaking the laws of the Tennessee Consumer Protection Agency.  Why is it you keep changing your name in the add you have on horseville.com, equine.com, horseclicks.com, and your you tube adds.  Let me go over them again for anyone reading this:  Angela Jones, Angela woodside, Angela Woodside Jones, Dawn Jones, Ann Jones, Ann lawson, Lynn, Lynn XX, Thundercreek Farms, Crescent moon farms, Dowelleton Farms, Joey lawson, and Joe. 

Your name and all your aliases are out there all over the internet.  Your being known as a scammer / con artist.  You put your self in this category by your lying, deceitful horsetrading selling no morals, no values , ripping people off ways.  People see the adds on Craigslist about you.  And on this site and Your tube video comments section.

Now there is a ripoff report on you for taking a payment thru the United States Postal  office delivery and cashing it.  This payment was for a horse you ADVERTISED ON THE INTERNET.  You did not supply the horse the payment was for.  You actually sold the horse to another buyer.  And you have not paid back the original buyer who sent the payment thru the United States Postal office delivery.  THAT IS MAIL FRAUD.  The authoritys of Tennessee  will be catching up with you.  Soon


And quit making excuses that its the fault of the  people who purchased the  horses from you.  If you had not lied verbally (and in all your internet adverisements ) to everyone that purchased a horse from you : stating the horses were bomb proof, child and husband proof, broke to death,  excellent health, good feet, in saddle club with your daughter, owned by a friend of yours and you were just selling it. ETC.  If you would of told the truth:  These horses were bought at an auction for 100.00 to 300.00, were lame, had hoof problems, were sickly, underweight, and have not been ridden for a long time, are problem horses that are being sold at auction for the meat market buyers/killers and are DEFINETLY not for children or novice riders:  GUESS WHAT?  NO ONE WOULD OF BOUGHT THE HORSES FROM YOU.   The legal writing is below.


 Failing to disclose all OF THE TRUTHFUL information if  known to the consumer at the time of transaction would potentially cause the consumer to not enter into the transaction.


I think I have made my point to you Angela Jones.   

Good grief,at what point do you actually grow up and stop being childish. Everytime a buyer is unhappy they automaticly claim the seller ripped them off. Thats absolutely untrue in most cases. Some people have no business ever buying a horse to begin with. You people have come to this sorry excuse for a website because it allows people to make false,exagerated,slanderous and hurtful claims against individuals and business's that have done nothing wrong. If you were unhappy with a horse from this farm, it is not because this farm INTENTIONALLY misrepresented a horse and at no time did I ever ignore anyone who may have had an issue. Out of HUNDREDS of horses that we have had the pleasure of owning and placing into new homes less than 10 have been unhappy......Go figure.

After dealing with, and going through much the same thing with Angela Jones/Thunder Creek Farm Summer 2010 as well, I really do feel for you and your daughter!  I just wanted to say I believe everythig you have said, as there seems to be a real pattern going on there with her, and I think we need to contact the places she runs her ads and let them know the dangerous games she is playing with people's lives and pocketbooks! 

I wanted to comment on the hoof issue.  In my case as well, before I bought the mare (paid through PayPal) I specifically asked about her feet/hooves and was told that she had excellent feet, was barefoot....no problems at all.  When the mare arrived, she had cracks all up her hooves.  When I questioned Angela about this, since she said they were so good, she said because it was so dry there that they cracked and her husband put the shoes on her to help relieve the stress.  The wierd thing is, when it was time to get her export papers, she told me there was a delay because of all the flooding down there.  Also she could not get the current photos and any video at all because of all the flooding, so funny her hooves were such a mess due to it being so dry!  Again, it is just one lie after another with her! Do not believe anything this person says! And as with you, I also incurred the expense of farrier work due to the shoes she had to keep on because of the condition of her feet when she arrived!

I am really sorry for your encounters with her, and I really wish those horse ad companies would put notes at the top of their sites to encourage potential buyers to come here and search for a person's name BEFORE they buy, because sadly, we don;t learn of this site until AFTER the fact, and until after it is too late!

Tara, first of all I feel I did take all the necessary steps to make sure I was buying the correct horse for my 8 year old daughter.  Angela's add on Horseville.com listed this horse was safe, for beginners, broke to death, pictures of her daughter on the horse, etc. (which is advertising fraud  when it comes to the law) When I contacted Angela- SHE STATED HER DAUGHTER HAD THIS HORSE IN SADDLE CLUB for a year ( maybe Angela could show proof of a year owning this horse with vet bills and pictures and a letter from the Saddle clubs (Tennessee) Board of Directors) ( I would like to see that!!) and that this would be the perfect horse for my daughter to start 4H with.  Her daughter even stated in a phone conversation that this horse was broke to death. Angela told me  this horse was owned by a lady that is a real estate agent for nine years and that the lady lost her property and the horse was sold to Angela by the properties new owners.   I discussed and totally voiced my concern for my daughters safety many many times.  As a matter of fact:  I told Angela I already had a horse for my daughter on my property that I had purchased a year prior,  but due  to the way he was acting when she was on him, in a controlled setting  and how he acted when approaching him in his stall, I was not feeling comfortable about my daughter riding him in 4 h .  So Angela knew exactly what I was looking for in a horse for my daughter.  How many people do you know that would spend money on a horse only to not let there daughter ride it because of saftey concerns and go out and buy another horse?  I think I was going way above and beyond for the safety of my child! Money did not matter to me to buy another horse because what mattered was that my daughter would be safe on the horse she was starting 4H with!!!  Secondly, Angela changed her story when I was on my way to Tennessee - I got in at 1 AM ( after a 7 hour drive) and had a hotel reserved.  I was to meet angela at her farm the next day. I even had my daughter with me to see, ride the horse, and make sure it was a perfect fit.   She changed it to 6 am, meeting her husband with the horse at a truck stop,  stating she could not be at her farm at our agreed time.  Stating her husband had to bring the horse to me at the truck stop on his way to Georgia to deliver another horse.  So, Exactly what was I to do at this point?  I was in Tennessee, I had paid for the horse.  I was taking the word of angela and the words in her add on Horseville.   This horse was broke to death, perfect for my daughter, remember? Angela tells lie after lie after lie, quits answering the phone, and does not live up to her end of the contract. Like I said - Angela knew I have a dominate gelding for 6 years and could not have a mare.  Angela stated she did not have any geldings.  This was Angelas way to get out of trading me out of this horse.  And she said I could not have my money back.  She said I had to trade for a horse.  But, as stated, she quit answering my calls.  Now, how was I to get this horse back to her when she would not answer my calls?  ( Maybe because Angela has done this sooo many times, she know eventually the person will sell the horse just to get rid of it and leave her alone?)  This is exactly what she does.   Also, if you know anything about horse auctions, these horses  at auctions are unwanted.  Unwanted for behavior problems, health problems, and are safety risks,  not because owners dont have the time to sell them on the internet or thru adds.  Its because the owners dont want to spend thousands on training a horse with behavior problems, and are a safety risk.  Just up to a few years ago (most of the slaughter houses are now shut down)  - most of the unsold auction horses went to slaughter houses and slaughter houses representatives were the ones  buying the horses at the auctions.  Dont tell me you never heard of rescues at auctions buying the horses so the slaughter house representatives could not buy them for the slaughter house.  I cant imagine people taking their child safe, broke to death, perfectly trained horses to these same auctions risking the horse being bought by a slaughter house representative and going to the only few open slaughter houses in America because as you have stated " they do not have time to put them on the internet to sell them."  Tara,What you have stated is so untrue.  Haven't you ever seen the horse auctions, where  the horses are uncontrollable and are bucking and rearing as the handler is trying to get them under control in the ring.  I have even heard of horses with broken legs at the auction.  I guess the owners of the horses with broken legs dont have the time to put the horse on the internet to sell them.  The stories of safety risk horses being drugged before the auction so they are calm tempered just so they will sell.  Well guess who is buying these horses now - Not the slaughter houses, it Angela Jones and other horse traders.   This is pretty scary, HuH?


I stated all the facts about Angela Jones/ Thundercreek Farms  -  she ruined my daughters hopes and dreams of owning a Tennessee walker and Angela Jones jeopardized both my safety and jeopardized my 8 yr old childs safety.  Someone is going to get seriously hurt on a horse that Anglea Jones  has  misrepresenting as child safe, broke to death, kids horse.   I would testify to the fact that she misrepresented the horse she sold to me thru lies and deceit. 

Good for you if you got a horse that you are happy with .  Thats great that your daughter has a horse to ride.  My daughter does not have the horse she wanted so badly to start her riding/owning experience with .  And just to let you know.  My daughter has waited till she was 8 years old to get a Tennessee Walker.  For years that is all she talked about.  And as you know, Little girls constantly draw pictures of horses and dream of their horse.  My daughter did.    

Oh yea,  to add insult to my daughter by Angela.  I was also asked by Angela to ask my daughter what her favorite color was.  My daughter said bright green.  Angela stated that the horse would have a bright green halter and lead rope on for when my daughter and I showed up to see and ride him.  ( Angela even stated since the horse was for my daughter, my daughter should pick the color).  My daughter thought this was so cool!!!  Guess what.  Her husband showed up with a thin cheap rope halter on him and no lead rope at all for me.  Luckily I had my horses halter and lead rope in my trailer.   And yes the horse had shoes on.  Per my farrier it was a horrible job, and the shoes were on to cover up a big hole from an infection that was in the horses front right hoof.  And yes, it has taken since the summer of 2010 , and farrier bills, to finally get that hole where the infection was to finally grow out.  And yes, I had to keep shoes on the horse.  So the farrier bills were expensive. 

Tara - You should not criticize my experience with Angela Jones.  As you were not a witness to her lies and actions of Angela Jones during my experience with her.  But after reading my facts.  Do you feel the same?

I came across this complaint and want to reply by saying that we purchased two horses from this farm about 9 months ago. The first horse was purchased for myself, the second for my 14 year old daughter. I felt the need to reply to this report after reading the article, because I feel that this farm is being slandered for unnecessary reasons, due to the buyer failing to purchase correctly. Firstly, this report clearly states the horse purchased was for an 8 year old "inexperienced" child rider. It further appears that the horse was purchased without being viewed in person or allowing the child to ride it prior to purchase. As a mother myself, I feel this action was very inapropriate on the buyers behalf. We made the necessary arrangements to travel to this farm, and personally view and ride each horse prior to purchase. Simply because there are many shady horse sellers. And being one of the horses we purchased was for our 14 year old daughter, I made every necessary step to assure her safety to visually see, and ride the horse. We were also told by this farm, that one of the horses we were interested in, was indeed purchased from a horse sale. Some may not realize, there are many very nice horses that end up at auction, simply because the owner can no longer afford it. And cannot take the time to list the horse for sale. We had absolutely no concerns where it came from, providing it was sound, and something that fit our needs. Our horses both came with current coggins, health certificates, new halters, lead lines and new shoes. Weather a horse is purchased from an expensive show barn, or a private owner, or horse sale. Does not always mean the horse is better nor worse. Through our 20 years of owning horses, some were totally insane that did indeed come from show barns, with excellent pedigrees. So I need to stress here, that if this farm does purchase some of their horses from sales, does not mean that they do not offer good horses. It also appears this farm did offer an exchange. Weather it be mare, or gelding, they did offer help to the situation. Where most horse sellers offer nothing after sale, nor do they show any remorse if a horse is not suitable. If you were told to pay with pay pal, and meet at a truck stop. Why on earth would you agree to something so obserd for a child of 8 years old. I am sorry, but this article is appaling so I felt the need to put in a good report for this farm. As we are totally satisfied customers and found this farm to be very honest, with very pretty, healthy horses that suited our needs. I would be more than happy to provide an outstanding reference for this farm for anyone who has any doubt after reading this article.  Buyers do need to realize that there are two sides to a story. This article clearly states the woman did offer help. In any case in my opinion shows integrity and kindness to the situation. It appears the buyer here made a huge mistake by not making a correct purchase when a child was involved. I only thank god, that this child did not get hurt nor anyone else due to this inapropriate purchase, on the buyer's behalf. I don't feel its fair to blame the farm. Happy to provide references for this farm. We are extremely pleased with our mare and gelding.
