Ticketmaster Replaced purchased tickets (to accomodate handicap) with non accessible area Charleston, West Virginia
Purchased 4 tickets on Saturday morning to include wife, myself (handicapped) and two children for Blue Man Group show in Astor Place Theater in NYC for the next day. Knew it was an older venue and stairs were unavoidable, but wanted to see the show. Called box office but because of special needs was transferred directly to Ticketmaster. Explained to agent the situation and that I wanted an aisle seat and to sit together as a family. Got us 4 seats off the center aisle mid-theater. The agent requested our e-mail address, but never sent a confirmation.
We got to the theater about an hour before the show to pick up the tickets and get in and get settled (we knew it would take a while because of the handicap...I can transfer from my scooter & handle just a few steps). My wife found out from the box office that the seats we ordered were not available. She was handed a receipt that stated we ordered seats in the front 2 rows....not on the aisle but up against the wall at the end of each row. Had to struggle to get to my seat by climbing over everyone in between. The front rows were not what we wanted & we did not get to sit together! We paid a lot of money to see this show & would have waited for a different performance to have sat where we wanted...especially for the aisle seat!!
The next day we called to complain and were given the brush-off and told these were the seats we ordered even though the receipt states "account modified" right on them. We intend on pursuing this further. This is what happens when you are forced to deal with a monopoly!
This was an extremely upsetting experience to have paid all that money & to have NOT gotten what you wanted...especially when a customer's special needs are involved!!!
