When I typed in "wicked omaha" in the google search bar a result popped up saying "orpheum.theatreomaha.com" I looked at it a few different times making sure it seemed legit. I decided to buy my tickets and since they were kind of pricey i went for the cheapest ones $72 a piece. Of course that ended up being the face value and add $15 to that for "fees" then add $15 to that for shipping. My total for 2 tickets was $190ish. I confimed the purchase and was set.
I got my package in the mail a week or so later and the shipping had actually been $5. I opened the package and pulled out my tickets to see the $39 price tag on them. I was curious so I searched google again and looked at a few different websites most listed the $72 price and then one was at $39 dollars for better seats than I was issued with ticketsplus. I was quite upset so I thought I would call, couldn't make it worse right?? The lady explained that I paid the amount that the market was showing for the ticket and the supply and demand of the tickets. Why then am I able to buy the tickets for $39 dollars still on a different website?? She said it was because I booked through a Second seller. I am just pissed because that is quite a bit more than the better tickets I could have gotten. Who decides this market value and why are some sellers using it and others not?? It makes me not even want to go to the show. I am so mad at the shadiness of Companies. I am writing this with the hope that someone else will see it and not buy their tickets from the shady company i did. I have learned my lesson and hope no of you will.

I am sorry that you feel that way, that you were compelled to type this post but in the ticket world, what you just typed is so common, it is as common as taking a shower! Much like airline tickets, Hotel reservations, ETC.... The airlines are notourious for doing that. Ever fly? Ever get bumped back? What everyone needs to know when purchasing something online, don't do it through pop ups. Type in what you want in what ever search engine that you use and go to a site that you know. And ask around because word of mouth is even better- Good luck in the future! OY!

I bought a computer for $500 at Best Buy.  When I got home, I looked around the 'net and found I could by the same computer for $250.   Was I ripped off?    Of course not.

Who decides this market value and why are some sellers using it and others not?"

You may be surprised at the answer, but in any market, it is you, the buyer, that decides the market value.    If you don't bother to shop around, don't whine when you don't get the best price.
