I recently called tiger direct to order a power cord for my laptop. They are an outsourcer for Gateway. I ordered my cord and was told by the phone agent that: "it comes with an optimizer to help your computer run faster". I get the bill and find that the optimizer "it came with" actually costs another $30. I called the number and talked to another agent who ended up admitting to me that they were having an incentive program to sell these optimizers. The call center manager gets on the phone and basically blew me off. He lied to me and denied that there was any contest or incentive program going on and said "we believe the optimizers are a worthy purchase" or some BS like that. He claims that he is going to listen to the recorded phone call and see what happened. I doubt that he will actually do that. You cannot get an email for the CEO of the company. Tiger Direct is ripping you off!!! Do not let them add anything to an order. Who knows what item they will be pushing next month. I find it very ironic that their CEO is apparently a part-time professor at UM teaching Business Law when his company is conducting this shady business practice and opening itself up to a class action lawsuit. My next email goes to the Attorney General
