I took a Toshiba laptop computer in for repair.  Was quoted a fee of $99 for them to make a determination on the problem - - fee was paid at that time on my debit card.  Within a week I got a call describing the parts needed and was told they did not carry them.  I made a call to Toshiba and they sent a diagram that I took in to Tiger for them to circle the parts needed.  A call, by me, was then made to Toshiba to order the parts that came over $100.

When the parts arrived I took them to Tiger Direct --I got a call when it was ready for pickup.  Within a week I had to return to Tiger because all I got was a blank screen.  Upon return the manager plugged it in and also got a blank screen. I Pointed out to him the keyboard didn't feel secure which he said wss normal.  When  got a call from them I was told I needed a Motherboard (heart of the system).

Dispute: Were they not able to make the determination of the need for a motherboard when I was told to order the other parts.  The computer was new - purchased new in May 2013.  This total repair is costing more than I paid.

This person could of had a loose mother broad when the tech release it to the owner or the keyboard not secured by repair tech making the status of loose keyboard shorted out the mother board as repair tech was releasing the product that was repaired to the owner. Or the product was at home could of worked until the loose key board shorted the mother board out making the status of in need of a new board. Work with the repair tech and get his boss into the probable gray area of the repair and make a deal with the boss. Tiger Direct doesn't want a bad name for themselves so they like to support  logical claims.

I as of yet had trouble with them following thru a debated topic or anything and a agreement with them as a negative  outcome for me. I have had a few returns in over the years until I recently retired as a production electronic troubleshooter tech. I have even exchanged theories of probable causes with the repair techs. Thats why I say-talk to a repair tech and come up with some theories that could of happen on your laptop and how to approach it's present status to totally repaired device without any additional charges to you with bringing it up to the repair tech's boss. TigerDirect is out to make a name for themselves and want that squeey clean image. Do some research or have a PC savy friend support your face to face debate so you have some info that makes as if you know what your talking about or they will just discard you or label you as a complaining customer that wants unjustified repairs done. Don't go in w/o information and logical questions to fire at them...Keep your cool also...

I hope I have helped you for your debate w/o purchasing another mother board blindly. If you get another board  GO ASUS!!
