Today I met a group of very unhappy individuals. They were all waiting online to make a return at the Tiger Direct Miami store located at 7795 West Flagler St. Suite 35 Miami, FL 33144.

Last night (Friday July 8, 2005) I purchased a Netgear wireless music player netgear.com/products/details/MP101.php. After I got home, I spent over 2 hours trying to make this product work as advertised. Bottom line is: this thing sounds like a cheap battery radio, and it looses its connection even when a person walks in front of it.

The next morning (Saturday July 9, 2005), I decided to return the product. When I arrived at the Tiger Direct returns line, I witness a number of individuals making returns and being charged 15% restocking charge. I thought they would not charge me for that as my purchase was made just a few hours before and my invoice did not mention anything about this policy. I asked to speak with the manager who identified himself as junior, who basically told me they would charge 15% restocking charge even to a customer who returns a product that has been purchased 5 minutes ago, for any reason, even if the product did not not work. Later I found out that the real name of that individual manager was Junier Betancourt.

Tiger Direct uses this abusive policy of not standing behind the products they sell and instead charging the consumers 15% of the retail price just to take it back. What a ripoff!!

My recommendation: Stay away from Tiger Direct and tigerdirect.com!!
