I purchased a 20" LCD monitor from TigerDirect.ca which turned out to be defective -- with a bright green vertical line appearing. I obtained return authorization, was told that I should insure the shipment, and that my shipping/insurance costs would be refunded (which could take up to six weeks to arrive). The amount was over $70 (Canadian).

Two months later, still no refund. I contacted TigerDirect.ca again and reached Mr Jason Zheng who told me that I should fax in my shipping receipt. Six weeks later, still no refund. I contact Mr Zheng again. This time, he indicated that the monitor had tested okay, and thus no refund was forthcoming. I protested, and he indicated he would investigate and get back to me. He never did.

Several weeks later, I filed a complaint with the BBB. TigerDirect.ca gave them the same story. I was put in contact with Ms Fran Maxwell, who claimed that I had reached the end of the line. Moreover, she was unwilling to provide any details about or documentation on the testing that was supposedly performed.

Contact information: Mr Jason Zheng -- email is , phone is 866-310-7088 or 416-626-9701 x8441. Ms Fran Maxwell --email is, phone extension is 5662.

Was it faulty?

Firstly - Dude - It's totally uncool to post someone's telephone # on a public site. That's just spiteful.

I've bought from Tiger for years. They only refund return shipping if the product is faulty in some way. They test it too- so no use lying (my friend tried that once- didn't work - they dinged her with a restocking fee too!).

Try filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. If you have a legitimate complaint, they might help.
