* After waiting almost one year for my rebate, and several E-mails later, I E-mailed the following to OnRebate.com regarding my rebate:

I requested a rebate thru your business shortly after my purchase on 04-23-2005. I have not received it to date.

When I first called, I was told that I had to send in more paperwork. I faxed this to Martine on 09-22-2005. I contacted Martine again on 10-12-2005 and was told that there was another problem with my paperwork on their end and that Martine would fix this for me and that I should be receiving my rebate shortly.

My tracking number is: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

To date, I have not received my rebate.

A few days ago, I tried calling Onrebate. No one answered. I was on hold for 30 minutes before being disconnected by your company.

I am currently trying to call you and I am still on hold. I have been on hold for 15 minutes today, and there is still no answer.

Early on, I contacted you by E-mail and was told to call to resolve this matter. I do not have time to continue to doing this. I have lost a significant amount of time in contacting your business since initially filing my paperwork I am very displeased with onrebate.com.

If you do not resolve this problem and contact me by Tuesday, March 14, 2006, I will contact the Better Business Bureau to have it resolved.

What is it that you are needing in order to complete the refund?

I sent in the original request shortly after my purchase on 04-23-2005.

I later received all other rebates except for this one.

On 09-19-2005, I called Onrebate.com and spoke with Martine. She asked me to resubmit the rebate request and sign it at the bottom. I faxed this to her at 1-888-426-9467 on 09-19-2005.

I called back a few days later (09-22-2005) and spoke with Martine again to ensure that she had received the fax.

On 10-12-2005, I spoke with her again after noticing that the tracking number showed that it did not process correctly. She said there was a problem on her end and that she had corrected it and that I should receive my check in 6 to 8 weeks.

The tracking number is: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I E-mailed OnRebate.com again and asked them to have a manager contact me at home...

I faxed a letter to Office Depot Headquarters. (I got nothing) I called Office Depot HQ. They referred me back to OnRebate.com. I called Systemax HQ. They gave me the phone number to Antoine Myers, a Customer Service Manager with OnRebate.com. They answered the phone as "TigerDirect" and told me that Antoine works for OnRebate.com and gave me the generic OnRebate.com
phone number that I'd tried to call the first time!

I am now in the process of filing a complaint against OnRebate.com/TigerDirect, Office Depot, and Systemax with:

The state of Florida's Better Business Bureau
My state's Attorney General's Office
My city's Prosecuting Attorney (possibly Criminal Fraud?)


One Last Note:

I had been looking to buy a laptop from Office Depot. I had looked at www.TigerDirect.com and couldn't decide which model I liked the most.

NOW, I'm glad I waited! I have since learned that OnRebate.com is owned and operated by TigerDirect.

I will not be making a single purchase from TigerDirect, Office Depot, or Systemax after this incident.

Funny how a $50.00 rebate can cause a business to lose a $2000 + sale.

After looking at all of the complaints against OnRebate.com, I would not be surprised to see some type of class-action lawsuit in the near future. If one has been started, please let me know, I'm all in!
