Complaint Review: Tim Blood of BLOOD HURST & O'REARDON LLP

In my opinion, Mr. Blood of BLOOD HURST & O'REARDON, LLP has a history of misleading and grossly overstating legal fees to the court. For example, in Plaintiffs v. TOYOTA MOTOR SALES, Blood claims he pays his paralegal staff $280.00 an hour (each) as his “usual and customary rates set by his firm for each individual”. This might be construed by a reasonable person as making outlandish, if not outright false statements to the court and it would be in interesting to actually see those payroll records and tax returns. According to publishing’s, the average pay for paralegals in San Diego is around $27.67 an hour plus benefits (if any) vs the $280.00/hr. claimed by Mr. Blood (some 10 TIMES over the average rate).

This type of billing could not only be unethical, but in my opinion, it might actually be an illegal criminal offense and should be investigated by the authorities.
