tim howard m bigtimhowardm Offer to buy electronics for son in Nigeria pay by PayPal. Internet
I recieved an email from one, Tim Howard, offering to purchase my Zune 120 GB Media Player. He indicated he wanted to purchase it for his son working in West AFrica for Shell Oil Company. The item was listed on CRAIGs List for $245. He offered $330 which would include shipping by EXPRESS MAIL. He requested I send him a PayPal invoice which would protect both of us and once he made payment he would give me his son's complete address. I responded I needed to investigate mailing and PayPal and requested the city in which his son lived. He replied Nigeria and asked that I send the invoice as soon as possible. Fortunately, CRAIG's LIST of ways to avoid a scam included not giving out any PAYPAL info. I replied, PayPal did not work for me and offered to meet him at McDonalds or some other public place to make the purchase. In the interim I googled his email address and saw the Rip off report for the same name with different ISP.

..the best way to avoid getting scammed on Criagslist, is to heed the clear warnings. It is impossible for Craigslist to know or screen the contents of an email sent to a prospective buyer or seller.
There were so many red flags on this attempted transaction, but still we read reports of people who fall for this. Fortunately for the OP, he used a little common sense.
