I was bidding live on Liveauctioneers. I was outbid and during the fair warning period, the other bid was cancelled and I became the highest bidder and supposedly won the auction (it was a small pocket watch). I tried to contact the auction house through several means to figure out what had been going on (it could have been a genuine mistake) but they did not return my calls or messages until 3 weeks after the auction house. On the phone, they threatened me to file a complain with Liveauctioneers and then asked me if I had been bidding live. When I told them yes, they just hung up on me. I found online other complains regarding this auction house filed in 2013 and 2016.

They bid you out and then cancel their bid to make sure that they get the maximum amount of money. I have dealt with many auction houses and mistakes can happen and they are usually quite open to working things out. This auction house seems to be a repeat offender.
