Timber Lodge RV / Jim Jerde Lifetime Mebership Scam New Waverley, Texas
In 2007 my husband and I signed up for a Coast to Coast membership. The salesman informed us we needed to have a "home campground". Upon signing the contract for Coast to Coast for $60.00 a year there was an additional contract for Timber Lodge RV in Waverly, TX. The yearly membership fee was $99 per year. At this time, it was a good deal since we were traveling alot. The contract states that this fee is FROZEN at this price.
In 2009 I became ill and we are no longer traveling. We currently have the RV on the market for sale and no longer need the mebership.
I contacted Timber Lodge and explained the situation. Shortly after that, I was contacted by their "Collection Agency". I informed them at the time that I was unable to pay. With no insurance and over 40,000.00 in medical bills there was just no way. At that time the customer service rep became beligerant and uncooperative and stated that this was a lifetime mebership. She also informerd us that if we did not pay that the fee would increase.
There is no mention of a LIFETIME in the contract. I feel this company is a complete scam and I will be reporting this to the BBB's in Texas and MN. If anyone woulod like to contact me in regards to this company, or a class action law suit, please feel free to respond!
Thank you!
