I originally went on the website to find a dealer who dealt with Certainteed shingle. A man Peter Onaluk called me and told me he would be sending me samples and went over to see the job site. I told him I was in the process of interviewing General Contractors and that I just wanted an idea of the colors for the siding. Mr. Onaluk told me he c he knew a contractor to contact. I have several contractors out there bidding for the job but would also happy to receive his.
I e-mailed him and told him I did not recieve the samples yet and still waiting for a contractor. He left me some very demanding messages telling me I should get back to him with what I thought. He states he was voted the last two years best of the best by the asbury park reader's poll. We all know how they work.
On August 3rd I contacted all contractors including his and told them I wanted all the proposals fully ready because I would be making a decision on Friday August 9th 2013.
Mr. Onulak friends proposal came in uncompleted but did have Timberline Builders roofing and siding quotes on them. For the same products I requested from all contractors, Timberline Builders was by far the most expensive. He was almost double of the other competitors.
I get a letter from Mr. Onulak telling me that in the 30 years of business he has never seen someone like me and my screwball GC. He stated he spent 20 hours to get me a great GC. While as of last night his great GC was still pricing out a job I asked for final August 9th. Mr. Onulak said I was garbage and people like me are garbage!
Who speaks to a consumer in such a matter. He should be reported for price gouging. When I stated he was unethical he responds "Boohoo". He know states he got contractor of the year three years now. I have tried to look him up on the Better Business Bureau. He is no where to be found. He also had complaints with them but also came back undeliverable. They did not have a correct address for this business.
I grew up in the Jersey Shore and the devastation we have had is very unfortunate. For a man to try to raise prices should also be reported to Certainteed Dealer , Department of Consumer Affairs , State of New Jersey as well as the Better Business Bureau.
