I received a courtesy rate renewal form in the mail from a place called Time Subscriber Services out of Tampa, FL. Knowing I had never subscribed to that magazine, I wanted to contact them immediately to resolve the error. At the same time, I realized that most of the info on the envelope wasn't correct: gender, first initial, & destination town.

I googled for more info based on what little was on the bill, since (conveniently) no contact details were provided on the bill. Wasn't sure if it was the right place, but the representative at the 800 number I came up with seemed to know what I was talking about after reading to her the "account number" on the "bill". She confirmed that I owe them for magazines I had received & should renew by 1/5/09. I told her it was a mistake & to please remove me from any further communication about owing money that I didn't owe. She wanted to send me to a research specialist to resolve the issue, so I held on the line.

During the process, I was disconnected, so never got through. I let it sit for a few weeks, then attempted contact again at the same 800 number, at which point I talked to another rep. who said she will cancel the subscription so I won't receive any further notices. Won't get my hopes up, but I guess time will tell... pardon the pun.
