Last summer I purchased music CDs offered over TV by Time Life/Star Vista. After haggling about hard sell attempts to have me buy magazines and other unwanted things, the purchase was finalized without the unwanted products. Within 2 weeks of making this purchase, I began receiving robocalls for sleazy sexual products. I told the caller I did not want to receive any more calls and to stop calling my cell phone number. (FYI: I am registered for no call blocking). This did not and has not stopped the calls. The calls have been made from three different ACs and telephone numbers. Most of the callers are foreign. I do not answer the phone when I see any of the offending calling numbers. I've researched (and continue to do so) the Time Life/Star Vista connection and learned that Direct Holdings Americas, located in Fairfax, VA has several entertainment companys that include Star Vista. I've concluded that Time Life/Star Vista sold my cell phone number to the robocall boiler room sleazy operation. It is not a coincidence that I began receiving these calls shortly after making the purchase from Time Life/Star Vista. It is a business decision--a sleazy one--by Time Life/Star Vista and Direct Holdings Americas in colusion with each to harrass customers with such calls. I've reported this problem to the FCC and other government agencies and am pursuing other avenues to stop receiving these calls. Also, I have news media connections (being a former reporter) and am sharing this experience and information with them in an effort to stop these and other such practices.
