Complaint Review: Time Payment Corp

We had a gentleman come to our home and show us what his security system is all about.  He said its a wireless system and he said that its non obligational that if we sign up we can cancel at any time.  Having kids and wanting the extra protection we thought it sounded like a reasonable idea until he asked us for our social security numbers. We said nevermind we don't want anyone pulling our credit as we own a company and we don't want anything reporting to our credit at this time.  He assured us that they only use the credit to do a background check to make sure that we are safe citizens and they aren't giving equiptment to anyone dangerous. We literally wrote out a paragraph on the social security number page stating that by no means are we doing this to have a credit check or report to our credit it is for background purposes only.  Ok fast forward to the man that came to install it.  He drilled the system into my wall and cut a hole in the drywall all the to the basement so he can plug it in.  So it's not wireless!  You can literally deactiviate it by unplugging the cord AND you have to have a land line in order for it to work.  The next month we recieved a credit alert that time payment is reporting to our credit score!  When we called to see what was going on and to cancel, they said too bad we were locked into a credit reporting 5 year contract!  We told him all about the sales man and his speach and they said he was fired the week before for things like that.  No help to us.  They didn't care that we were luuered into a false contract.  At the end of the 5 year contract we were supposed to be able to cancel and own the eqiuptment at that time. I called at the end of the 5 years to cancel.  It was on auto pay and I just realiezed that they are still taking money out of our account!  This is a whole year later.  We moved last January even.  I called right away and told them how our contract was over and how we even moved on top of that.  They said unless we turn in the equiptment we still have to rent it.  No, I was told that we own it after 5 years and they said no.  What a mess!  I am obviously going to get this handeled in court but I should not have to do that!
