Tina Norris of TNT Talent Management has broken trust as an agent, misused funds and appears to be little more than a con artist.

In  2010 she misrepresented herself as a legitimate talent agent to perpetrate a scam involving individuals and firms in three states, defrauding at least two performers of thousands of dollars.  It is important that professionals in our industry be aware of her activities in hopes that she will never exploit performers in the Midwest again.

In brief, Ms. Norris booked me and another Chicago-based actor to perform in a non-union industrial video for John Deere in June 2010.  When the producer (Wide Awake Films, KCMO) issued its payment, Ms. Norris simply kept the entire amount for herself -- her ten percent commission plus our all session and travel fees.

As Ms. Norris knows, talent agents in Iowa are neither licensed, bonded nor answerable to state oversight.  She also knows that pursuit of legal redress is not only time-consuming and inconvenient for out-of-state talent, but ultimately more costly to the aggrieved parties than the amount she misappropriated.

There's little I can do beyond exercising my civic duty to spread the word about this reprehensible woman.  After decades in show business I’ve never before encountered such brazen abuse of an agent’s fiduciary responsibility.  Only through public awareness can I hope to see her prevented from ripping off other artists in the future.

Learn from my mistake.  If you care about the entertainment and performing artists' industry, if you believe in honesty and trustworthiness in business dealings, then you would be wise to avoid working with Tina Norris.
