I was recently surprised by Tip Top Chevrolet's POOR customer service. I made an appt. to have repairs made on a faulty 4WD switch and a power window regulator (which was stuck in the down position in below freezing weather).

I also have two small children which I informed the Dealership of. My appt. was scheduled for approx. one week later! When I dropped off my truck, I was informed that under my warranty I had a $200 deductable. However, I was not informed that the $200 would be due upon completion of services rendered, neither written nor verbally.

I was told by the service rep. that my truck would be finished by the end of the business day and would be notified by
phone upon completion. Around 4:30 I called Tip Top Chevrolet
and was then informed my 1999 Silverado was finished and that I
could come pick it up. I was dropped off at the service dept. and was given my bill.

The bill listed the parts required to fix the problems, the labor times required for repairs, and a bottom line price of $200. The keys were handed over to me at which point I was sent to the customer service desk.

The secretary THEN informed me that the $200 would have to be paid before I could take my truck. I asked if I could be billed for repairs by mail.At this time she asked the owner, Robbie Ginther, if this was possible. He stated that "they did not have a charge account" and asked if I had a credit card. I said yes, but I would like to avoid going that route.I then told Robbie that I was not informed about their policy at which point he stated "It's COMMON KNOWLEDGE THAT ANYONE OFF THE STREET WOULD KNOW".

At that point I asked if he had a formal complaint report
I could file. His reply,"NO, BUT YOU'RE MORE THAN WELCOME TO WRITE ME A LETTER". When I asked what course of action would be taken when he received the letter he said"NONE".

I again stated I was not informed of their policy, his response;" I'M NOT GOING TO ARGUE WITH YOU ANYMORE" he then turned his back and walked into his office. I was furiated at this point but kept my cool and said "Thank You" to the receptionst and left with keys in hand to make arrangements for the $200. I crossed the street to make a phone call for the money and waited for my ride to arrive.

During this time an associate of Tip Top Chevrolet called my home
and said they would be calling the local police to report MY OWN
VEHICLE as stolen and legal action would be taken. Before the call was made, no-one bothered to check their own yard to verify
if my truck was actually there or not. Had they checked, they would have found my truck in the exact location THEY had left it.

I arrived back at the dealership with the money for the bill and asked for an itemized bill WITH a breakdown of part prices.Robbie
then told me that info would be sent to my warrenty provider and that there was no way for me to acquire those prices. I then asked for him to show me the paperwork with my signature on it
that stated I understood their policy on warranty repairs and was refused said request.

I told him that was enough to make a guy not want to drive a Chevy. That was the only complaint I made that actually brought on a half-hearted appology. I then paid my bill and left.

FOR THE ABOVE LISTED REASONS, I WOULD NOT RECOMEND TIP TOP CHEVROLET,FBKS AK TO ANYONE BASED SOLEY ON POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
