Both my son's where part of a wedding party in July 23rd 2005. I have paid for a rental of 2 tuxedos which came out to $255.00.
'
On their first fitting everything was OK. They were required to get refitted 3 days prior to the wedding, in case any adjustments had to be made. 3 days prior to the wedding they both went in for a fitting and the outcome was: 1. Sleeves where 4 inches to small and the jacket was 4 inches to big for both outfits.

They re-fitted them again and told us to return the following day, we did and again the exact same outfit was not even touched. The measurements agin where to short and to long. So again they were re-fitted and told to come back the next day, this is 1 day prior to the wedding. So we did.

The following day when we arrived the outfits again did not fit, it seamed that it was not even touched. They siad they appoligise and this has never happened before. Now it is 9pm at night and they are required to be suited before 8am the next morning. They wanted to measure it 1 more time and have the outfit picked up the following day.

Needless to say it was NOT TOUCHED AGAIN. They told me to take it up with the manager on Monday. At that time it was to late. The attended the wedding without the shirt and jacket that I have rented. I went out and purchased 2 other shirts and made due with the jackets.

When i spoke with the manager the following Monday all he said was the best I can do is give you $30.00 for the gas you have spent.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO!!!!

Hello ma'am.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I know that personally, we do everything we can to fit our clients correctly. I've worked for Tip Top for 2 years, in St. John's Newfoundland and in Halifax.

Fit is not subjective on a professional level, however it is most definitely subjective on a personal level. I find it very strange to have the sleeves be a full four inches too short - that type of variance is nigh impossible unless your sons stand well over 6'6". The sleeve on a jacket, when the gentleman is at rest, should break within 1" of the wrist. The cuff of the shirt should be showing. Most North American men wear a suit size too large for them, unfortunately.

Also, to have the chest measure four inches (which would be a full two sizes) too large and concurrently have the sleeves be four inches too short (which would be nearly four sizes) - means that either the employee you dealt with was untrained, or that your opinion of the sleeve length/jacket fit is skewed.

In the future, I hope you have better luck, and I'm sorry to hear you were unable to receive the assistance you required.
