Tire Kingdom/ Merchant Tires Total lack of product knowlede, skills, job performance, accountability and professionalism Chesapeake Virginia
We always use Merchants for our three cars. We use the Cedar road location because it is convient to our house. We have had several bad experiences for this location.
They broke my air conditioner when they changed the belts last year. It was like pulling teeth to get resolve to the situation, going through their headquarters.
The latest problem occured today. My daughter took her 2001 Eclipse to them and bought two new tires in Dec. 2006. They suggested the Sigma brad high performance tires to replace the ones on there.
We took the car in a month ago to have a nail removed from a tire and to have the tires rotated. When we returned the tire had not been repaired and the tires were in the same location.
They would have charged us for the work, even though it had not been done.
They went ahead and rotated the tires and fixed the tire.
Today she went in for a front end alignment and radiator flush. The manager called to tell us that the front tires were coming apart. He said that this happened because we had both directional and non-directional tires on the car, and they should have not been rotated.
We told him that we had never heard that term before. Noone at merchant ever said this to us. When we had the tires rotated the month before, they never said there was anything wrong with the tires, because there wasn't.
If the tires were not suppose to be rotated, when the heck didn't they inform me of this. They didn't, so now as a result of this, my tires are coming apart.
When the manager (Matt) looked it up in the computer that they are the ones that sold us the tires, his story changed and then said it didn't matter that we had both directionaland non directional tires.
When I confronted him about the danger they put my daughter in, as a result of their incompetence he said "oh well, things happen". He was rude and very unprofessioal. They refuse to take responsibility for what they have done.
I filed a complaint with their headquarters and they have not contacted us about the situation. My daugher and I have lost time from work because of this.
Also, the tires she purchased are high performance tires and are expensive. They are 70,000 mile tires and she has only put 26,000 miles on them. Because of their negligence my daughter stands to be out of pocket around 400.00 for new tires.
In the future, I don't care how far we have to drive, we will never do business with Merchants again.
THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE( Cedar Road Store, Chesapeakke, VA)
