I WENT IN FOR 2 NEW FRONT TIRES ON SUNDAY, THE 16TH OF SEPTEMBER AT A COST OF $ 90.50. I NOTICED SHAKING ON MY WAY HOME, SO I TOOK IT IN FOR A BALANCING TO ANOTHER SHOP. IT KEPT SHAKING.

I TOOK THE CAR IN TO MY PERSONAL MECHANIC TUESDAY (TOOK A DAY OFF WORK) AND HE STATED THE ROTORS HAD EXCESS RUN OUT (THEY WERE WARPED) CAUSING VIBRATION WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES.

THE COST FOR THE NEW ROTORS CAME TO $ 150.00. I CALLED MARTIN, THE OWNER OF PACIFIC TIRE AND TOLD HIM WHAT HAPPENED. HE CAME TO MY MECHANICS SHOP WITH A MECHANIC OF HIS OWN TO INSPECT MY CAR. HE TOLD ME HE WOULD ONLY PAY FOR THE DAMAGE IF I HAD THE ROTORS ROTATED, AND NOT REPLACED. FOR THE SAFETY OF MY DAUGHTER AND MY UNBORN TWINS, I HAD THE NEW ONES INSTALLED, THUS PAYING OUT OF MY POCKET.
I AM CONSIDERING TAKING HIM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT.

Martin it is obvious that you know nothing about the mechanics of a braking system.

While it's true that tires are rotated and not rotors a typo is not the end of the world. Myself and probably everybody else that understands cars knew what she meant.

Rotors, especially full floating rotors, are easily warped when installing tires by over torqueing of the lug nuts. Unfortunatly most inexperienced people, such as yourself, just make a habit of drilling on the lug nuts with an impact gun rather than using a torque wrench which is the proper way to install wheels.Slamming on the brakes does not warp rotors contrary to the thoughts in your head, other factors include execessive heat build up from defective (not cheap) parts, and from rotors that are near or below the minimum thickness and unable to dissapate heat properly (caused by turning the rotor below its minimum thickness)when you are able to read a micrometer correctly you may be able to respond in an intelligent manner on this subject. Until then do the human race a favor and keep your unfounded opinions to your self. People like you remind me of why animals eat thier young.

The solution would be to contact the State of California dept. that regulates auto repair facilities and file a complaint. The other action I would suggest to this customer is to avoid contact with morons such as yourself until you have recieved the proper training on this subject.

First off, rotors have NOTHING to do with putting new tires on your car. Second off vibration when braking, duh you just said it yourself, is a problem with the BRAKES. Brakes do NOT go bad from changing tires, neither do the rotors for the brakes. Warping rotors is usually due to excessive heat, from braking. A lot of stop and go traffic can cause this, or even slamming on the brakes too often. Sometimes people put on custom rims that restrict airflow in the area of the brakes warping rotors too. There is NO WAY you could have warped rotors in one day. It takes time for them to warp enough for you to feel it in the brakes. You probably would have noticed vibration a week or two later.

It could also be whatever person did your brakes last used cheap parts, or just didn't have a clue how to do them right. The person who did the brakes, not who changed the tires should be the person you rant to, unless I hit the nail on the head in guessing you or one of your friends did a crap job on the brakes with cheapass parts and is looking for a sucker to pay for a REAL brake job....

P.S. You rotate tires not rotors dumbass.
P.P.S. Keep using your kids as a shield and excuse to justify things and make people feel bad for ya, you MIGHT just get some sympathy from some sucker because you can breed....
