I went into TIRE WORKS- Pecos Las Vegas to get 4 new tires, since I couldn’t afford the $300 all at once for all 4 tires, I applied for the credit with SNAP Finance in the store. I was approved for approx. $1300. My intention was to only buy the tires, but the manager convinced me that I needed new brakes new rotors and a few other things plus two warranties for the same price. I assumed they knew what they were talking about, they are mechanics right? Before this day I had regular car check ups and never had any issues, in fact I had my breaks replaced a few years before going in to get my tires at TIRE WORKS…. It took me 2 years to pay off the loan for what I could have paid in a few months if they had just sold me the tires. Here's the kicker - The manager who signed me up for credit (all before even looking at my car by the way), told me that when SNAP finance calls me, to make sure I don’t tell them about the other items I have been charged, to only say it was for my tires alone. I thought this was weird, but at the time, I was told that it was important to have these things replaced and being a single income household, I couldn’t afford a break down in my car.

I hopped in to the shop several times during the two years because I was having trouble with air leaks in my tires, and a nail at one time. There was a small slit in one of tires which I was told was “no big deal”. ( I was supposed to have a lifetime of service warranty)

This past December my tire light came on, I went in and had them look at the car. I was told my tires were perfect and there were no problems and that the sensor light was broken which they could replace for around $120. I chose not to purchase. I trusted they knew what they were talking about. I drove to San Diego the next day, and got a flat on the way. I called TIRE WORKS, they told me “you aren’t covered outside of Vegas” (nowhere on the warranty states this) I had to purchase 2 brand new tires in San Diego because apparently my alignment was off, and my drive line or rotors are NOT in fact new, I doubt the brakes were even done either!

I have filed a complaint with the BBB, contacted local media, SNAP finance, and my next step is to contact an attorney.

I think you should know what this company does, there are 100’s of complaints all over the internet in regards to this company. They do not email you back when contacted/, Jasmine tells me she is unable to communiate via email- and she told me this VIA EMAIL! I wnt a paper trail of all conversations, I will be trying to get reimbursed for everything I have paid them. My car is falling apart because of their failure to do correct diagnostics.

Attempted To Resolve the Concern

Tire Works Total Car Care would like to provide our side of this reported occurrence. Ms. Claudia Proft did in fact visit Tire Works Total Car Care Pecos location on March 14th, 2015. At that time Ms. Proft authorized a purchase of four tires, tire protection plan, 6 month or 6,000 mile alignment, rear brake pads, resurface of the original rotors and struts. When Ms. Proft left our Pecos location there were no issues with her vehicle.

Ms. Proft visited Tire Works Total Car Care again on November 16th, 2015 for a warranty tire which we remedied with no issue. Ms. Proft did not return to Tire Works Total Car Care for the upkeep of her vehicle after or before these two visits. Ms. Proft states on December 6th, 2016 she stopped into Tire Works Total Car Care for maintenance of her vehicle however there is no record of Ms. Proft having maintenance completed to her vehicle. The Manager states Ms. Proft did bring her vehicle to Tire Works Total Car Care however did not have time to wait to have the vehicle inspected and only wanted to check her air pressure.

Ms. Proft reached out to Tire Works Total Car Care Corporate Office on December 11th, 2016 to state her tire popped while driving to California she has protection what can we do. Tire Works Total Car Care Customer Service Manager of Tire Works Total Car Care reached out to Ms. Proft via telephone to advise the warranty is only valid at Tire Works Total Car Care and the only locations are in the Las Vegas Valley. On that phone call Ms. Proft did not bring up any issues she had with her vehicle or the company. Ms. Proft reached out to Tire Works Total Car Care a month later January 20th, 2017 to advise she went to a mechanic in San Diego who advised the alignment was not completed however in the second email received by Ms. Proft on January 22nd, 2017 it states Discount Tire told her that her front tires were shredding due to needing an alignment which may be true. An alignment is recommended to be performed annually. Once again Tire Works Total Car Care did not service Ms. Proft vehicle the entire year of 2016. Tire Works Total Car Care asked Ms. Proft for documentation showing the upkeep of her tires and her vehicle along with the documentation from the mechanic who stated we did not complete the repairs in March of 2015 and she refused to provide. Tire Works Total Car Care went above and beyond to assist Ms. Proft in March of 2015 and these accusations that Ms. Proft is stating about Tire Works is dishonest and disheartening.

Tire Works Total Car Care Customer Service Manager did correspond back and forth with Ms. Proft however per company policy is not able to correspond regarding issue via email but can speak via telephone to verify the correspondence is with the owner of the vehicle. At no time did Tire Works Total Car Care Customer Service Manager decline to speak with Ms. Proft.

Ms. Proft did report her concern to the Better Business Bureau at which time Tire Works Total Car Care offered to reimburse $16.00 back to Ms. Proft as customer satisfaction. The tire protection plan Ms. Proft purchased in March of 2015 is good for three years and Tire Works Total Car Care was more than happy to offer the proration back to her due to her move to California. Ms. Proft declined any reimbursement and the Better Business Bureau closed the case in good faith.

We appreciate and value all of our customers and did attempt to resolve the situation with Ms. Proft at no avail.
