My 1999 Chrysler Cirrhus had been making a mild squeaking noise rarely over the past few years...My mom took it regularly to the dealership for upkeep and they told her the squeak was of no concern...when she passed away last year, I purchased the car..... it had just over 40K miles...I never had heard the squeak and I drove her car alot before I bought it, driving her to different places.....then one day I heard it ....was like a suspension type noise....the car now has 58K miles....but the sound goes away and you don't hear for a long time....No mechanics have felt it needed anything done....just a noise....something to do with the heat here in FL....

well the other day the squeak became louder....and then another noise accompanied it....sounded and felt like grinding brakes....I parked it....until I could get it to a mechanic....the Tires Plus was within walking distance...I dropped it off and they looked at it the next day....I get a call at work (on a busy day) with a long list of repairs totalling $2400(actually $2600 with taxes).....I was devastated!!!.....brakes front($130) and back(included with calipers), calipers front($352) and back($392), rotors back($100), serpentine belts($136), air filter($14), brake flush($67), ball joints($800), alignment($120), battery($100), 4 tires($340)......

NOW YOU TELL ME, IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE THAT I NEEDED ALL THAT WORK DONE WITH ONLY ONE DAY OF HEARING THE "GRINDING" NOISE???...I had only the "supposedly" necessary work done which was the brakes and belts (oh and the air filter).....since I was at their mercy!!!
I needed it for my work and my daughter's work....I am an RN and work long days....no time to run it around getting quotes....thought you were supposed to be able to trust businesses....

I had signed a request to see my old parts....that never happened....I forgot after the stress of the day and they never offered...I realized later that evening that they never showed me....he told me to come back another day and he would show me what needed done.....WHAT WAS WRONG WITH RIGHT THERE, RIGHT NOW??....he couldn't WAIT to get me out that door....he was nervous and seemed to sense that I may have talked with someone (like a man who would have known better!!!)...

I was in shock ....when I picked it up and the service guy tells me that I really need to get the battery and the tires done.....not ONE mention of the "ball joints" which was the most expensive listed....WHY???...because it really wasn't necessary.....and since then I have talked with several men and women who know cars....most feel the calipers did not need done...and the rotors could have been flipped...he tried to do calipers on the front stating the pads wore uneven so it neded done also....from what I hear that's not unusual for pads to wear uneven and that doesn't mean you need calipers.....

my Mom took excellent care of this car....taking it to the dealership like clock work. So there you go another complaint about TIRES PLUS....PS this is the second time they tried to sell me things I didn't need....just a different location.....so seems to be common practice with them....this time I will never go back to another one!!

I handled it all calmly without losing my temper..though I was boiling inside. and you know what?.... it didn't matter how I handled it cause I STILL got RIPPED OFF.....I read the blog with "Glenn" and yes he lost his temper...but his beef was legitimate....it was all about customer service and he got NONE....you don't scream at customers....you handle them calmly....if I screamed at patients like that they'd fire me on the spot....and sick people can be pretty nasty at times....we just grin and bear it.....that's customer "service"...and I can't believe people that would BACK that type of behavior...SHAME ON YOU (you know who you are!!!)

The "comedy of error" here is you posting on something you know nothing about. Scroll up to the post from Glenn on 8/2. That says it all. Next time you should have your facts straight.

Tires Plus conceded

Wow
I can't believe that some of you are still ranting back and forth ......Yes, no comment was necessary to my report of being ripped off.....it was VERY legitimate.....I ended up actually getting SOME of my money back from the company.....not actually as much as I felt was fair.....but at least they recognized that they had handled me poorly and had to concede that maybe all that work had not needed done....I wrote directly to Tires Plus.com.....and the district manager called me later that same day.....it took a couple weeks to get monetary retribution....but they admitted from the get-go that the man who handled me was in the wrong....I was happy that they had acknowledged me and offered at least some compensation.....It's too bad I'm a softy because if I was more like Glenn or Robert I would have had ALL my money back....You two are driving this into the ground dontcha think???....I agree somewhat with Jodi.....but I think you BOTH need to "put a lid on it".....UNLESS this is therapy for you both??....because I'm thinking you just may need it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The MORAL to my story is:
It just proves that if you feel slighted, you need to speak up....and if they are a decent person they will stand up and accept their wrong.....I don't think those of you responding to this bull have that same capability.....
let it rest....get a life...
move on....dance till you can't dance no more....
bury the hatchet.....turn the other cheek...
kiss and makeup....get over it.....
CHILLLLLLL
find a "life" other than this bantering...
I let it go the minute I sent off my letter....it felt good....even if they hadn't conceded to their wrong doing.....I had my say....
but enough is enough
smile......amy

I rebuttal both mike and robert yesterday 8-1-07.If ror puts them up,great if not I know who's running the show.In light of what has happened in mlps. BUCKLING AND SWAYING THEN DOWN DOWN, DOWN. Crowded with bumper to bumper traffic I-35W bridge plunges 64 FT. into the the mississippi river at rush hour.At least 6 people died and more then 20 missing, countless hurt.Do not have time for your petty questions ,and proof and war, like your worth it any how. We have now more important things to worry about now .Been trying to contact family members there to see if everyone is alright. TROLLS please refrain from making FUN of this catastrophe.

I read this report, and your subsequent rebuttal, but this report was reasonable, well written, seemed plausible and I had nothing to add to it, or no reason to respond, so why would I? I didn't respond because you responded, that's plain silly. Your report was so implausible it's not even funny. BTW, I'm still waiting for your reply with the proof I asked for on the other one

We did not jump all over this report, because it has an air of truth to it. Yours had none, and you disproved your own stories(plural) each time you updated.

As for the "war", YOU started that bit of whackiness. I simply asked for some PROOF of your claim to have been enlisted, trained, and sent over...AFTER the last of the US combat troops were returned home. All you have to do is tell us the unit you served with. You cannot, because you did not.

And no Jodi(Glenns only defender at this point), being killed during the Saigon Evacuation defending the Embassy, while terrible, is not the same as if we were still at war with the NV. Wars end with Peace Treaties, and we signed one with NV in March 1973...the month Glenn claims he enlisted. The only troops there after that were the Embassy Guards(Marines), and military planners. Do you really think Glenn was a military "planner"? He'd have been a Private, and from his posts, I'll wager one for a very long time. They were not conducting military operations, as Glenn claims he did for 2 years AFTER the Peace Treaty was signed and honored by both sides. If he did, he was AWOL, and subject to prosecution as both a deserter by the USA, and as a Guerilla Fighter by the Vietnamese Government.

Your theory that the two Marines killed defending the Embassy were involved with the "war", is the same as equating US troop deaths in England this year with the American Revolution/War of 1812, or in Germany and Japan with WW2. Why not? After all, they occur AFTER the Peace Treaties are signed, AND we still have troops in all 3 countries. The Vietnam War ended for the US in March 1973. It ended for the South Vietnamese in April 1975. Get it?

Glenn...None of your posts made sense, and you carry on the tradition in this one. I like how you keep talking in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd person...all in the same post.

You are the greatest!

If I would have wrote that story the trolls would have been all over it. The reason they are not messin with anybody ,because they are all too afraid me. Because they sensationalize glenn's story it got so out of hand they would just write about anything like the war. Hope you got everything worked out ; IF not let us know.
