Complaint Review: Tires Plus

On 05-21-03 I had my oil changed at your store - as I have done for the three years since I have retired here to Florida. When checking in, the Sales Manager, Ron, was persistant in getting me to open a Tires Plus credit card. I told him I only use one card and did not care to open another.

He kept up the harangue emphasizing the "just in case" aspect of the 90 day pay plan. I finally acquiesced and let him fill out the form on the computer. I used my Visa card to pay for the oil change that day. Ron told me that my car needed a transmission pan replacement and a motor mount. I told him I would take care of that in June.

When completing my work, the service tech slammed down the hood with out putting the holding rod down into position thereby crumpling it grotesquely preventing my hood from closing completely. Unfortunately, I didn't notice this until I had left the store, so I had to make another trip to attempt to get that corrected. The manager was extremely flippant about the fact "that it was no big deal".

My 1989 Chevrolet Celebrity was bought new by me and I have kept it in excellent condition. I want the rod replaced, however, this part has been discontinued. I am NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS destruction of my property.

I received a bill from the TireSplus credit card company in the mail yesterday for $443.77! Now I AM REALLY UNHAPPY with this store! That work has not been done, no appointment was made to have it done, and no estimate was signed to authorize the work. HOW CAN THIS STORE OPERATE LIKE THIS AND STAY IN BUSINESS? I expect an apology for the disgraceful behavior of these men.
