Titanium LLC failed to show up to finish installing alarm system, refuses to cancel contract Duarte CA
I first interacted with Titanium reps on Thursday 7-18-19, based on a neighbor's recommendation. Signed the contract and a tech came to install the system that night. The tech did not have enough magnets to finish and said he would be back the afternoon of Monday 7-22-19. He did not show up. According to my records, I was missing 13 door/window magnet sensors, and my system had been left in standby because of these missing sensors.
I went through the Titanium phone customer service on Tuesday 7-23-19, arranging an appointment for a tech to finish installing magnets between 8-Noon on Wednesday 7-24-19. Nobody showed up. I called around 11:30 asking for an ETA and was told nobody was scheduled. They minced words saying that the agent I spoke with had noted "a tech might show up."
I replied that I don't change my schedule for "might." Was on the phone for about 1 hour, again. I stated that they had failed to show up for 2 appointments now, I was done, cancel the account. Then I go through the various people trying to save the sale. I finally ended up with an email address to which I was to send my info and reason for cancelling. I made sure Titanium could not charge me anything via my bank, then sent the cancellation email.
On Thursday 8-1-19 I spoke with Natalie and reaffirmed my desire to cancel. "Well sir there is a cancellation fee and you will go to collections." Said I don't care, and where can I send your equipment. "A tech will come pick it up." Yeah right. The camera installation was scheduled for Friday 8-2-19 from 1:00-5:00.
A tech called me at 10am to let me know he was 20 minutes away. I had a feeling that would happen, told him to not bother as I was cancelling. Spoke with Natalie again on 8-2-19 about refusing delivery of the cameras. Then Regional Manager Brandon called to save me from collections and gave me his personal number to get all this stuff taken care of, my credit score will be ruined, a lien will be put on my house, and Titanium will get their money anyway - or they can come out and finish the installation.
My cancellation fee was quoted as $700-$800. I asked where this was spelled out in the contract. Brandon said there was language in there. I asked again where it said that it would cost me $700-$800 to never talk to them again. Brandon requested 2 months to get all the equipment installed right and avoid sending me to collections and all that ugliness. He stressed that Titanium gets paid anyway and the no-show tech would be severely punished.
Quotes are paraphrased as I did not record these calls. Titanium feels like a solid scam, they are only there for the quick install that leads to recurring billing. They collected approx $34 from me for something related to the "free installation." They will not get another dime.
There were 2 business days between my first install and the first missed tech appointment. 4 total business days between my first install and the 2nd missed tech appointment, and me sending the cancellation email (Wed. 7-24-19). Their equipment is in good condition in a box awaiting either pickup or shipment. The contract specifies 3 business days to cancel. I cancelled at 4 days.
Most recently Titanium is calling regularly about my past-due balance. On 10/4/19 I spoke with Danielle at 626-471-1198 ext 405 about paying $2,800 or else getting sent to collections, or she could schedule a tech to come finish the install and make this all go away.
10/16/19 Audrey at 626-823-1018 left me a voicemail about the past due amount.
I want my contract cancelled. I was left without a working alarm system, Titanium is trying to blame me and charge me for wasting my time while their techs failed to show up at appointments to complete the install and leave me with a functioning alarm system. I will not do business with them.
