The company certified our boiler as safe, reliable, and free of leaks in June. A month later, a certified home inspector detected a leak at the pilot supply line. This should be a very simple fix that I assumed they would address right away. After not showing up for a scheduled appointment, the company has since refused to make the repair.

I received an email from the owner T J. Christensen offering an impressive number of excuses, including:

1. the gas detector must have been bad
2. the gas detector must have been set to the wrong sensitivity level
3. the leak must not be a safety concern and not substantial
4. the inspector and homeowner must need an education
5. the leak must have been caused after your inspection

Here's a choice quote, showing his contempt for his customers:
“If I need to give this my attention it will be $250 per hour for me to have to educate either the certified inspector or the home owner on how misleading these combustible gas detectors may be used. In addition, if there is a substantial leak at the boiler (I'm confident there is not) then it developed or was caused after our inspection.”

He clearly made up his mind that the leak is not his problem and that his company is infallible. That’s an odd way of doing business.

Apparently their lifetime guarantee actually lasts less than a month.
