Last October I purchased a box of 25 Havana Honey cigars, on line from your company for the price of $76.00. There was no discount to apply to the transaction and there were no pop ups since I have a pop up blocker and do not receive them.

Yesterday I received my monthly Visa bill and noticed that there were two strange charges on the bill from two companies that I have never done business with. I went to the Internet in search of these two companies and discovered that both are associated with scamming thousands of individuals out of money by enrolling them into a membership after they first receive a one month trial free membership and then neglect to cancel and then are charged a monthly fee. I would like to stress at no time did I opt for any kind of free membership in either of these organizations nor have I ever received correspondence from them through the regular mail or through e-mail. After discovering that they were unauthorized charges, I contacted Visa and was assisted by one of their investigators. We first determined that the two companies, TLG Great FN and WLI Reservation Rewards were each charging my Visa account for $9.99 and $10.00 monthly. The investigator was also able to determine that the charges went back for ten (10) months.

The investigator, (with me on the line) then contacted both of these companies. WLI Reservation Rewards ultimately agreed to refund the full amount of their charges which amounted $90.00. The current charge on my Visa bill was to also be disregarded.

We then contacted the other company, TLG Great FN. They were not so gracious. They only agreed to refund two months worth of charges at $9.99 for each month, leaving me at a loss of $9.99 for eight months.

Both of these organizations were asked by the Visa investigator where they obtained my credit card information. Both representatives advised that it was through a transaction I made with your company when I purchased the cigars last fall. Both explained that I must have opted for a free membership to obtain a discount on my cigar purchase.

At no time did I receive a pop up ad or join either of these memberships. Thompson Cigar Company simply responded that they are not affiliated with either of these companies.
